well, tonight's the last shift of 2004. forgive me if i'm not inclined to do a "snake and jake's '04: a look back" type summary of this year's bartending hits and misses, bloopers, tragedies, hilarities, etc. it would take way too long, and require way too much thought.

so. i leave monday morning to fly back home to Kentucky. tomorrow night will probably consist of me and the ponch-monster packing for our trip, and pacing a lot. (thank god i have a dog that loves to pace as much as i do.)

i won't be updating as much while i'm gone, being as i'm not taking my laptop and i don't particularly want to use my father's to access SG. understandably, i think. hopefully melvina will let me use her computer when she gets back in town, but there's gonna be about a week where you're going to have to do without me. yes, heartbreaking, i know.

so, everyone have a happy and safe holiday season, if i don't talk to you before i blow this town. be careful, have fun, and make sure you tell the people you love how special they are to you. i know this time of year gets all hectic and stressful and depressing. but don't take that shit for granted. really. be nice and tip your retail and service industry folks, buy your mailman some beer, and be sure to give your pets plenty of x-mas treats.

thanks to everybody for making this year not-as-bad-as-it-would-have-been-without-you. and, if grace, luck, and the powers that be are with us, i'll see you all next year.
