Election Day is over, and you lost. Once again, I despair for my country. No comprehension of the root causes of recession or the employment crisis. Things will only get worse.

But I had an amazing weekend.

Went out to a club on Friday. Nothing too special there, but it was fun.

Saturday, I went to this. Elijah Wood earned my eternal respect by playing "She" by The Monkees and some sort of Spaghetti-Western version of the Lawrence of Arabia theme during his set.

Oh, and I exchanged numbers with a cute girl from the UK who's in the States for a month. That officially makes Saturday the best night of, oh, the last year. Maybe the last three.

Sunday, I hit the West Hollywood Street Carnival and took in the insane variety of costumes to be seen. Also, I helped set the record for the most people doing the Time Warp at the same time. (Though the actual highlight of the night was seeing a couple of guys dressed as the "Yup Yup" aliens from Sesame Street.)

All in all, best weekend of the year.
