I took my car out for its first fairly-long-distance drive. I went down to Eugene overnight to visit a friend. It did marvelously well and got close to 30mpg at 75+mph. I was quite content. KNRK ran out just south of Albany, so I had to entertain myself and found some program called "Groov-ology" or somesuch. I think it was on an NPR affiliate. They were playing super groovy things from the 70's and it was good.

It's funny how after an hour's nap, one doesn't feel like actually going out to the concert and party for which one was taking the nap in the first place. We ended up crashing for the night basically.

This morning we went hiking up some hill that overlooked the whole valley. It was definitely an amazing hike and view from up there. There were a few people up there besides us. Two of them, a couple, looked like they were having one of 'those talks'.

I'm noticing trucks a lot more now too. Partially because of my job, and partially just because they're so damn cool. It's impressive to just watch them on the road. Thinking "Wow, that's a lot of shit they're hauling." It's also interesting to watch how they help each other out--indicating if they've passed all the way. It's just really cool.
