leela is asking (in her journal) for thoughts on a design she is contemplating. i commented as follows:
"on the tattoo. you are unique. please forgive me for being blunt and honest, but, the design your thinking about could be so much better. you have such a resource of possibilities in SG, poke around. to me, body art ( let the word tattoo be for what has been and seek what can be) is best when it works with, expresses and extends the form and meanings of the body that its on. you are long and elegant, express it. celebrate your beauty. i think kali has an amazing piece of art on her back that expresses and extends not only the gorgeous goddess that she is physically but intellectually and emotionally. i tried to say something about that in the illustrations that i did for her (see my pics). designs that led the eye in motions that follow and work with the magic of the bodies movement have special magic. twwly understands that well. the way that kali's design peeks over her shoulder to say hello adds so much. your love for your sister is so wonderful. perhaps you want to weave that in. lyxzen really pushes the limits in personal expression and unique design. her style/meanings are not yours but in terms of understanding what can be done and the deep and personal nature of the art....wow. anyway some thoughts offered. very best wishes." i know how personal these decisions are. i tends to make them difficult to discuss but i hope my offerings contribute to and inspire some open and lively dialogues. as we all know, the medium is just so cool.
