Another frustrating day at school...no surprise there...
I was preparing to shoot some paint on our bumper and decklid (trunk) when our third partner caught me getting the supplies...he asked if I was gonna shoot it...I joked with him about feeling left out. He said he wanted to feel like part of the team...so I handed the job off to him and headed outside to wet sand the crappy clear coat job...
Here is an example of what the nice shiney finish should look like...
This is what it looks like when you have what's called orange peel in your finish
See how it's all bumpy and kinda dull? The surface looks like the contours of an orange...hence the name.
When I went to go check on our third guy I found that the paint was lifting in some places...the same way it had lifted on parts of the car. I told him to let it dry and we'd take care of it.
Wet sanded for a while then went back to check on him...he was just sitting there doing nothing. The next time i went to check on him he was gone completely.
After lunch, when the instructor told us we could leave after we'd signed in he sat at the table eating as I walked out.
Angry as hell...I decided to take over this operation...
By the time he showed up I already had the bumper sanded and ready for primer...
I mixed the primer and some paint and went to work.
In one hour I got done what he couldn't get done all day...
Not that it came out so wonderfully. I didn't have the time to use the slower setting chemicals which makes the paint lay down nice and smooth...so I got a ton of orange peel too...which I'll sand out tomorrow and finish that thing.
I was so furious it was NOT to be believed.
As I was shooting the paint army guy came up into the windows...with him were some friends from another class...guys he hangs out with and parties with...guys I hate to admit I would like to impress and be their friend too...
Too bad army guy didn't bring them over when I was doing something impressive rather than shooting orange peel all over my bumper
I already know that they are aware that I work my ass off and in bitch sessions about the other lazy girls (see previous entry) they admitted that they'd rather have ME on their team than some of the guys in their class...so I guess it wasn't a total loss

On today's agenda? Right now I'm relaxing with one of these:
Then off to take care of some bills...
But soon I'll be relaxing with another one of these
Mmmmmmmmm....yay for smoothies on a hot day!!!
EDITED TO ADD:
Had to throw in the picture of this truck that I saw while at the bank!
My favorite is the way it's shamelessly parked across four...yes FOUR parking spaces!
Who ever said that everything was bigger in Texas...they sure weren't fucking around!!!
(well shit, at least it's a chevy!)

Glad to see you're taking charge though, don't let these Texans push you around. Not that you ever would.
