Another week coming to a close.
I've started my first of three structural classes and so far I'm really enjoying it. I guess for some people it might seem tedious to take such care in measuring every single little millimeter of the frame of a car...but for some reason, I seem to enjoy it. So far all we've been doing is practicing using our tape measure and reading metric.
This, made more challenging by my broken big toe. Imagine me climbing around on those car lifts all gipmy like.
But the toe is actually feeling a whole lot better which makes me pretty happy.
And I've motivated to order the resistor assembly I need for the heater in my car. Of course, this only AFTER our cold front. Few things crack me up as much as when these Texans freak out because the weather gets below 40 degrees. I mean, get a grip people.
In other news...
I was watching Sex in the City reruns the other night and heard Carrie say, "I guess the real measure of a relationship is another relationship."
It reminded me of last Friday when I was leaving the welding lab and about to head home and get ready for my biker xmas party.
I checked my phone and saw there was a message...it had come in right around the time the biker usually calls and I felt myself get kinda happy inside.
When I checked the message though, it wasn't from him. It was from the greaser in Pennsylvania. The guy who I was so totally in love with, who two months ago told me he'd call me 'that weekend' and never did. And I felt my heart sink.
It made me sad to realize that seeing his name on my caller i.d., which used to make me so fucking happy...now made me sad. He finally called and left a message, saying he wanted to check in with all that was going on, school and everything. And all I can think is, it's too fucking late Greaser. He has no idea how I did in my electrical class or my drivetrain class. He doesn't know I'm not going to make it home for xmas break. And he doesn't know that I'm sitting here in the bikers pajamas. The ones he left here when he left this morning.
