Well...so much for the beautiful weather we were having in Houston
Turns out it was nothing more than a cold front...we're back to the hot and humid nightmare...
Luckily, I keep my house like a nice cool, cave...sheets over the windows, red lights, and a/c...open the door and I'd react like a vampire in the sun.
THINGS I MISS ABOUT NYC: (in no particular order)
1. Public transportation.
2. Being able to get smashing drunk, pouring myself into a cab, and waking up at home, safe.
3. Knowing where everything is.
4. Having 'my places.' My hair place. My bar. My pet food store.
5. H & M stores
6. Burritoville.
7. Crif Dogs.
8. My deaf community friends.
9. My SGNY peeps.
10. Having my choice of things to do any evening of the week.
11. Doc Holliday's bar.
12. Liberals.
13. Democrats.
14. Seeing a monk and a transvestite hooker all in the same day.
15. Metro Soccer.
16. My ESC boys.
17. My Rumbler Boys.
18. My greaser...ok, he's not in nyc but he's close.
19. It's 'anything goes' attitude.
20. Half a million people protesting the war in Iraq.
21. Gay pride week.
22. Seeing my fag marry his boyfriend in Central Park.
23. The Halloween parade in the village.
24. Vegetarian food.
25. The Blackout of 2003!!!
THINGS I DON'T MISS ABOUT NYC:
1. Mayor Bloomberg.
2. The ridiculous expense.
3. Crowded sidewalks.
4. My office job.
THINGS I HATE ABOUT HOUSTON:
1. I have to drive everywhere.
2. 'Everywhere' is always really far away.
3. It's nightmarishly hot and humid.
4. Rednecks.
5. Homophobes.
6. Republicans.
7. Not knowing where anything is...and when I find it, it's always really far away and I have to drive there.
8. Absolutely no useful public transportation.
9. Therefore, having to drive after drinking...meaning that I never get to drink as much as I want.
10. Y'know what...Houston's sober drivers suck too.
11. Stuck up girls.
12. Did I mention how fucking hot it is?
13. I don't have any friends.
THINGS I LIKE ABOUT HOUSTON:
1. Wal-mart.
2. Cheap cigarettes.
3. Ok, cheap everything.
4. The people, if they're not stuck up or rednecks are pretty nice.
5. It's pretty laid back, except for the rednecks and homophobes.
6. It's just a temporary stop on my road to fame and fortune!!!
I can't fucking wait until Christmas...who's gonna throw my my 30th birthday party?!
