A common mistake we make: Saying, "Everything is going to be ok."
The truth is...everything is ALREADY ok.

Ok, so I've run into a logistical/financial problem...
After having a small nervous breakdown, I reassessed...
I was already planning to downsize my crap as much as possible. I've got tons that I keep around for stupid sentimental reason and habbit. To be honest, I was looking forward to having a good excuse to get rid of some of it.
So this here...little bump in the road...only means that I'm going to have to be that much more brutally honest about what I think need and what I don't.
By the time I made it home from work yesterday I was already further downsizing in my mind...what do I ABSOLUTELY need...need enough to squeeze into a minivan instead of something else.
I'm a little depressed about the thought of having to leave my bed behind. Being that I slept on the floor for a good 2 - 3 years...FINALLY got myself a real queen size bed...and now will be relegated to the floor again. But seriously, who the fuck cares? I've done it before and I can do it again.
Arriving home, I found Ms. Pants lounging on my couch. Can't say I was entirely thrilled about that but was able to vent to her a little and we began to brainstorm.
We came up with the idea of caravanning. My friend E said that she knew people who owned cargo vans...but THAT means that she'd have to drive it back to NYC and time wise, that can't be done. So I called her and updated her on our brainstorming. IF, by chance, Ms. Pants and my brother, both who have expressed an interest in driving me out there, my brother who was disappointed to hear I WAS only renting the vehicle one way because he had WANTED to drive back...agreed to make the trip there and back, would any of her cargo van owning friends let us use one? She said probably.
Now we have to work on funding issues with my brother and Ms. Pants...both of whom are ALSO financially strapped right now.
But, the idea of caravanning out there with my brother, Ms. Pants, and E REALLY sounds like fun. It would make the drive easier AND I'd get to have them all in my new house so I wouldn't have to feel so alone out there until school started. Plus, it means I wouldn't have to leave everything behind.
It seems this moving to Texas thing, to study auto body repair, which STARTED as 'following a dream' has really turned into 'running away from home.' *sigh*
Well...until the caravanning idea takes off the game plan is this...
Break down my stuff into 3 catagories:
1. Stuff I need immediately (radio, computer, jeans, boots, and coffee machine.)
2. Stuff I want to keep but don't need immediately and can be shipped out to me, super slow, the day I leave (the rest of my wardrobe, etc)
3. Things I want to keep in my life, but may or may not want or need shipped out to me (backpacking equipment too expensive to replace)
If anyone can come up with any other brainstorming ideas...I'm totally open.
Or, if anyone wants to join the caravan?

In other news...today is the second day of the greasers job interview (it's a working interview, meaning he shows up for two days and works and they judge his performance). He didn't call last night (which was somewhat expected) so I'm not sure whether or not he still plans on coming out here. I have a terrible fear that he isn't.

Tonight I go to Doc Holliday's for my final Tuesday happy hour drunk fest. One of my favorite former co-workers will be there and a couple current ones might join. Ms. Pants is crashing the party, so you might as well too! If you're around, come join!
The truth is...everything is ALREADY ok.

I moved five blocks five months ago and I was sooo stressed and out of my mind. [see my pics] But, then again I was moving in my girl. Your going to another part of the country and, I think, leaving some one behind. So of course you're going to question every little thing. Change is always good. You should come to Brooklyn it's like a little vacation. Have you been to the Zombie Hut? It cures all!!
I'm too far away to help with the caravan.. Still, you can stop by on the way out and we can have a drink or two.. you and your bro and ms pants..
whomever..
