Actually, there's a whole bunch of stuff going on in addition to the whole 'love' thing. I was completely overwhelmed and couldn't think of much us for a bit...but no worries...I'm back now and I'm sure to be trying to sabotage the whole thing in a minute anyway...

Friday afternoon, in between going to court and filing my answer to the 'come to court because you owe us money' thing and getting on the bus to P.A. I got a call from the housing lady in Houston. She said she has a place in mind for me, a 1 bedroom for $460 a month. I don't need a co-signer because they'll take me with the employment record I have. She also says it's five minutes to school and there are lots of students living there. So, I can either get into the whole carpool thing or ride a bike. This is a total relief. I'm packing up my apt application today and sending it out with my check. Hopefully all will go well and I won't end up being a homeless crack whore when I get there.

Got to spend Friday night hanging out on a farm with my new friend JC. I got to smell real fresh air and listen to the bullfrogs. We had a couple beers and went to bed pretty early...we had a wake up time of about 6:30 AM.
We decided against driving up with the greaser and JC's baby's daddy at 5am. I mean, really...fuck that shit.
***
6:30 AM...woken up by the baby in the next room. JC spoiled me with a latte with real whole milk and real sugar!!! Oh bliss!!!!!
Had a really nice time getting all gussied up with her. It's not often I have the chance to chick-out like that.
The funniest thing is...I'm actually not used to hanging around with anyone who looks like me. I don't call myself a rockabilly because frankly...I'm not. I dress like I dress and that's about that. I probably listen to more country than anything else and I hardly ever venture out for an event. And I certainly don't have any other rockabilly people in my life to call friends.
So, getting off the bus I think to myself, "I wonder if I'm going to be able to recognize her...I mean, we've only met once and that was months ago!" But, I calmed myself down by reminding myself how 'our people' tend to stand out...so it shouldn't be a problem.
And it wasn't...about ten minutes later, when I started thinking that maybe I WASN'T recognizing her...I see a woman pop out of a car with a kerchief on her head. Just like me... Awwwwww...
Later when we were getting ready for bed, she walked by my door in her little pink night gown...and I sighed...cuz there I was...in my pink gingham nightgown...
It only got worse too...both of us dressed up in red and black...and when we got into the car for a liquor run and I went to tie on my kerchief to protect my hair from the wind...so did she...
It really was humorous...I'm pretty sure you all won't appreciate it...but we laughed our asses off.

JC and I had a good time getting to know each other on the 3 hour drive up to the hotrod show. I was happy to find that my first impression of her was right, she's pretty awesome.

And then...there is...the greaser...
He was stuck guarding the gate with another guy when JC and I walked up. He was actually stuck there for most of the day.
We had our awkward moment when I just kinda waved at him, "hi" and he's all..."hey."
He eventually broke the ice and came to put an arm around me, telling me not only that I look encredible (which he continued to tell me throughout the day) but that it was really good to see me. Actually, he told me THAT throughout the day too.
JC and I went and mingled with the folks we knew and listened to the bands playing. We never got the rain we expected and it turned out to be a nice, laid back car show.
We'd pop over to the gate every now and again to visit the greaser. I got to meet his mom however briefly.

After the car show me, the greaser, JC and her baby's daddy all went out for dinner. The tension between JC and her man is really horrible. I love them both individually, but together...what a nightmare!!!
We eventually found a hotel room which cost a whopping $70 per night. At first JC agreed we'd all share a room...but...
There was no way I was about to spend the one night, after 8 months, we got to have together, holed up with those two! So I shelled out the $70 myself for a room for the greaser and me. This made JC's man pretty upset...but fuck him.
***
JC's man was in a horrible mood and decided not to come out with us when we ventured out to a local bar to meet the greaser's cousin. We ended up having a great time though. I loved hearing the two of them tell stories about the times they've spent together with family. We all got properly sauced and after saying good-bye to the cousin, we headed back to our hotel.
Which is where the whole love thing happened. But I'll spare you that drivel.
And oh yeah, there was sex too.
