Well, it looks like I've been tagged by my lovely Sinatrasdoll.
So here are 20 random items about me...I'll try to make them interesting...
1. I was born deaf. I had 14 surgeries by the time I was 7 and now live with a mild hearing loss.
2. I am not related to a single person I've ever known. I'm adopted.
3. I was hospitalized 3 times before I turned 18, each for different reasons...suicide/depression...drug addiction...anorexia. I signed myself out of the hospital when I was 18 and never looked back. I haven't been in therapy since then and my self-esteem has never been better.
4. I spent two years in juvie detention between ages 14 and 16. They eventually kicked me out for my raging drug addiction. Yes, I was a junkie.
5. I was actively sober for 10 years in AA...8 of those years consecutively...mostly out of spite...never let anyone tell you that spite is always a bad thing.
6. Five years ago I bought a 1970 VW bus that changed my life. Not because I ever got to drive it anywhere but because it resparked a dream and introduced me to the people who would teach me to follow it.
7. Every two years or so I like to throw some challenge in front of myself to prove that I still have what it takes. It's gotten me to run a marathon, backpack the tundra of Alaska, and drive a monster truck.
8. I survived an abusive relationship...probably by the skin of my teeth...it destroyed me...and made me a better person.
9. I am encredibly musically talented, but don't currently play an instrument.
10. I have a phobia of squirrels. Really.
11. I guarantee I've slept with more people than you.
12. I used to be afraid of looking bad...to the point I was paralyed...now I couldn't give less of a shit.
13. I actually have a pretty good singing voice, but generally refuse to sing in front of anyone. I've recently started singing at Karaoke night at the bar.
14. I've kept a journal for as long as I can remember. The old school written kind...until a few years ago a guy I was seeing set up an online blog...I've kept an online journal ever since...
15. I used to be so painfully shy I wouldn't speak unless spoken to...now one of my favorite things is meeting new people.
16. I was and still am the defending oil wrestling champion at Rogue's Pub. I had a fan club and everything!
17. I was a competitive ballroom dancer for two years.
18. I am happiest when I'm covered in dirt...doesn't matter if it's in the woods or under the hood of my car...
19. I take showers by candle light.
20. I have a thing for elves...I collected Elfquest comics forever and have a MAJOR crush on Legolas from Lord of the Rings...
