UK/USA verbal culture clash!
I've noticed it does happen a lot on here. there are certain things I say that work in the UK that just don't translate for American readers.

Although admittedly, the solution to it from our point of view, as long as we lasted, seemed to be that I would speak in a more American idiom. Sometimes I still ask where the 'bathroom' is, or similar things. Yeah, I take it back. She Americanised me. But not my spelling.
