Nothing really happening in my life lately.

I started another post grad chemistry paper, stopped working in my horrible job and have done some work with NZIFST organising events to encourage young students to become scientists.

I got a raise at work today, however tomorrow is my last day so all it really does is prove what an asshole my manager is.

My university has offered me a fully paid phd if I switch to an Honors rather then Masters and get an A on my dissertation. Though this will actually be really easy since I will be part of a team of researchers working on something I can't talk about, it means I will now have to remain unemployed and poor for the next 12 months....

For instance tonight I was at a table with some one who had won the Rutherford award several tables a away from a Nobel prize...

Four more weeks till I'm unemployed, andI am looking forward to it. I never thought not being an Indian would be something that would hold me back in a job but apparently it happens, so I told my company exactly how I felt about being offered a contract with less pay then almost everyone else in my lab, needless to say they weren't as happy...

I'm mainly disappointed because its one of the few companies that has its lab and manufacturing plant in a small town. Its made having to go back to my boring job today even worse then usual though since I rarely get the chance to be intellectual in a place that is...

My food science professor recommended me for a job in product development for a certain well known American food company. I'm really hoping I get it as it is my dream to work in a position I can actually use real science. So if you have any luck to share with me please do.

Good luck! The food industry is fascinating (well, to me at any rate), hope you find your niche!

So I'm 30 now. I celebrated by doing a 15km run and then spending the day in bed. To be honest this is what I do every Sunday though since its my one day off. I then got up for dinner and drank a $50 bottle of champagne I've been saving. I figured if something really important actually happens it would deserve more than $50...
