We got a horrid phone call last night.
A friend of ours back home, the drummer for the bands (A)PE and Nero in my profile, was killed on Sunday.j He was hit by a truck while riding his bike in Portland. The guy that hit him took off, and didn't even stop. Next thing the two people with him knew, our friend was dead.

Chris...

Ani Difranco has a song that states "Take away our playstations, and we are a third world nation.

We'll if any of us had any doubt about that statement whatsoever I think that this last week has answered it with a resounding YES we are.

I am not ever speaking about the actually conditions of New Orleans (while they are very much "third" world at...

I read this quote the other day, from a soldier in the 3rd Infantry that clears Big Fucking Technologicaly Advanced, Tactically Placed Bombs (or as the army likes to call them "improvised" explosive devices/IED's). A bomb went off next to him while he was driving down a road, in a country that does "belong" to him, that he is occupying (by choice). It went off,...

i understand your point, but feel differently.

yes, it was a blanket statement, and very generalized, and that man is probably the epitome of christian fundamentalism,

but when someone is prepared to die for his country, he should feel so strongly about his beliefs. everyone is a radical in some aspect of their beliefs.

blargh,

its harmless.

life goes on.

by the way, i think youre very intelligent, i like your pic, and i liked your comment.

thank you.

oh, and if my comment made you dislike me,

email me, id be interested.

Yea Quinne! I don't know what it is about that girl, but she is just too fucking cute! I think it's the smile........

So I couple of people welcomed me back to this whole "real world" thing, and some others brought up some good points. I've been thinking a lot about it, and I must say that Eugene as a city (not even an anarchist...

thanks for the compliment.

comics are alright. i haven't finished anything in the last week. been busy. but i've been making connections with other proactive artist types. i think i'm starting to find my crowd maybe, of peers anyway.

i'm interested in hearing more about this kid's humor zines. thanks for screening him though. wouldn't want to be making a trade with frog. you know...

I shot most of my set today. It's a different theme, set in that building I posted pics of. How are you?

Never thought I would say this.
but I'm going through major culture shock at the moment. i don't think it is an east vs. west thing or whatever, I think it is a re-introduction into the collective culture of the U.S. that is throwing me for a loop.

Where was I for five years?
I didn't realise how much of a blanket reality I had...

verizon is the thorn in new york's collective side. the worst... the absolute worst...

there's an alleycat race on september 10th based on that movie "deathrace 2000." it starts in brooklyn and goes to who knows where. if i'm not in LA, i'm going.

i'm riding a shiny new bianchi with most of the stock components stripped off and replaced with lighter more durable ones (i thrashed the cranks, chain and un-trued the wheels in the first month of riding).

i'd thought about getting an old track bike and fixing it up, but decided that would be stupid if i decided to actually use it on a velodrome as well as the street, so i settled on the cheap bianchi and figure if i start racing and like it, i can just move the parts off of my pista to something like an IRO, bridgestone or colnago frame.

I didn't mean to piss you off, I just remembered a few things you've said in the Eugene group.

I tend to read peoples journals that are connected to friends every once an a while. Usually when they post interesting comments, and I'm bored. I don't read your journal every day, but yes I've read a few of them. If you want to call that lurking so be it.

I wouldn't move to NY as a state in general. If I had too I'd go for NYC, it has good restaurants. I also wouldn't like to move to any north east state. I have been all over this country as well as Canada and Mexico. I like the history in the north east but thats about it, oh and you can get a better assortment of good food.

Sorry if I made you mad dude.

Hot!!! Humid!!!! Sweaty!!
uuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhgggggggggggg

Mogwa hurt her foot really really bad two nights ago, we were out playing about in the streets, running havoc, and she rolled it on a ledge. It's all fucked up. We've been icing it and trying to get it down, but she can't walk so she can't go anywhere.

So we're stuck in this hot house (I could leave if...

Yea!!!
Shit is working out. I know my last few entries have been rough. I get overwhelmed some times, and then it is really easy for me to focus on the negative when I get in that place. What can I say, I'm a true emo kid at times even though I have no desire what so ever to be one.

But I am proud...

Hello!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I haven't replied, we're still on living out of a car and camp sites.

The trip has been amazing, we've traveled over 5,000 miles, dont it for dirt cheap, and seen so many beautiful areas of the country.

We're in New Paltz now, and the trip is coming to a close, but we're still fucking homeless. We can't find a rental in our...

So we met Kevlar the other night. A drug dog from Montana. Mogwa was sitting topless outside the Yellowstone, and the next thing we know this k9 Forest Service unit roles up. We had like 2 grams of weed on us, and I don't even smoke. We got our shit totally fucked with and the next thing we knew like two hours later the asshole...

Go see one of my prints. Mine is the one on yellow gingham. It's actually a doll, but it's so small (about 5 by 5 inches) that my crappy camera won't photograph it when it's 3D.

Never thought I would see the day that a farmer complained about rain...

...shows my lack of exposure to farming, my ignorance about food production.
i've been picking cherries at Mogwa's dad's orchard for about a week now. it's beautiful out here. but the harvest is hard, it turns out that water pops a cherry (i'm serious) when they are ripe. it has to be...

i've always wanted to spend time at a cranberry bog. cranberries don't suffer the same hymen-poppin' low-liquid tolerance as cherries.
jackalnoir:
Joenobody beat me to the "cherry pop" idea. But yes, food is an amazing thing. We have so much in America, unknowing just how important manual labor is to produce the vital substances. And how amazingly wasteful we are, with buffets and supersized meals. Other countries barely have enough, and many don't have even that. How odd it is knowing there are 4 million homeless people, in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. Capitalist rhetoric about supply and demand and welfare aside, people are just greedy assholes. When you really think about it, there is absolutly no way to rationalize away the homeless and hungry.

Rants aside, I hope your travels are going beautifully. I miss ya and I'm sure the site does as well. Soon I'll be moving back to Raleigh to a newer house, with a better infoshop in it. Anytime you or friends are down in NC, there will always be a place to stay and food to eat.

I have this sense of guilt.
I'm leaving my family here, people that are closer to me then I have ever had in a long time. A circle of friends that has been closer to me then any since highschool...

...I find myself on the verge of tears everytime I'm around them. Choking them back I just smile.

am I wrong to leave all these...
