Hey now! I haven't played in my mom's basement in years!

It may be typical of the pro-Obama Dungeons & Dragons crowd to disparage a fellow countryman's memory of war from the comfort of mom's basement, but most Americans have the humility and gratitude to respect and learn from the memories of men who suffered on behalf of others.

This is my 1,000th comment on SuicideGirls!

See?

I kinda like my 999th comment too. You don't often get to say that to a Suicide Girl.

I survived. Details to arrive tomorrow.

And I did get some good news. I got a call on the way back to my folks that the theater group I auditieoned for a week ago was trying to get ahold of me and flipped my cell phone and work numbers...anyway, they figured it out and offered me the part of Smudge in Forever Plaid.

This will...

Congratulations on getting the part.

Sounds like a great vacation so far.

So, where's our State Fair Food on a Stick Report, eh?

It started off as a simple idea. While trying to figure out our summer vacation, we eventually landed on the idea of just going down to visit my parents for a week or so, and as one of the things to do on the vacation, go to the State Fair. It has been years since we had been there, and the kids should enjoy it...

This is a Truly Great Idea, and I would encourage you to post the results here in your journal. Assuming that you live to tell the tale, that is.

Don't forget to include one of these!

I am alive! Just incredibly incredibly busy!

So...how's all youse guys?
silversurfer:
Fine, thanks.

Remember, if you send Cassie a friend request, then, after "she" accepts it, you'll be able to view the Hack/Slash comic full size, in her "Murder/Suicide" picture album.

So this has been a tough week for geeks. First, the death of .Gary Gygax, co-creator of D&D, and now today, it has been annouced that Dave Stevens, creator of The Rocketeer, just lost a battle with lukemia. Rocketeer is one of my all time favorite comics, and Dave was an amazing, amazing artist. It was Rocketeer that first stirred in me...

Still alive. Just been insanely busy with the family and show and real life stuff.

Anyway, nothing much interesting to report here. Finished out the show last night at a giant upscale senior living center way out in BFE. I am now a professional! Or at any rate, I will be, once I get paid, which I am doubting will ever happen looking at the...

Yawn. Tired. Up until 3 AM working on a change for work last night. Was wearing my contacts the whole time, now one of my eyes is killing me. Would rather not go into work, but I must. Becasue I am a dedicated, trustworthy worker.

And I also have opera rehearsal tonight. And we men are going to get yelled at, for not knowing our...

Went to the late showing of Blade Runner:the Final Cut last night. Nothing like seeing BR the way its supposed to be seen, on a big screen. It was being shown in an old theater here in town, so the seats weren't that comfy, and the popcorn tasted funny, and it was WAY too hot in the theater...they had these old heating units under each...

That movie is so great, it makes my head spin. And, you got the full theatrical experience, despite what sounds like rather difficult physical conditions.

As for how The Final-est Cut of All is different from the Director's Cut, check this out.

Brownie night. Wife and I met in passing. She told me that there was a rice pouch mix dinner on the counter for me, just microwave.

I pick it up, and squoosh it like the directions say. Get ready to put it in the microwave, and happen to check the expiration date...

I think she's trying to poison me for my large insurance policy....

A few weeks ago I figured out that I had some really old cans of soup in my kitchen cabinet. A few of them didn't have any expiration dates that I could find. Some had expired a year or two ago, which is pretty scary since they're good for a few years when you buy them. Some were not expired but still pretty old. So, I decided to start having them for dinner a few times a week until they were all used up. I figured if they smelled bad I wouldn't eat 'em. I'm just about done with the whole batch, so I'll be getting some "fresh" cans of soup from the supermarket soon.

Ah, the joys of bachelor living.
