Sigh. Back in the car, another 5 hour trip downstate, to go to my Grandfather's funeral.

But, on the bright side, we'll be able to go to the State Fair while we are down there.

But, on the dark side, we can't go to GenCon. First time in like 20 years that I've missed it.

And, on the additional darker side, I need to have...

HOLY SHIT HENTZAU!!! It just says BACK TO THE 80's!
YOU ARE FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!!

_pie_:
666Irish is currently replacing the starter in my car... $60 for a part on a car that is worth maybe $600, and that's because I got the part off of eBay... retail stores wanted over a hundred!

I got a call Monday night that there was something wrong with the computers at church, and they really needed me to look at it. So I told them I would swing by there before work on Tuesday to check on the servers, and went a different way than I usually do. Completely out of my way. And I had a couple of things slow...

I am so sorry!

I'm sorry to hear about Joe. But at least you were there to help Elizabeth during the immediate crisis.

So my folks gave us a VERY generous Christmas gift this year of an HDTV. They bought us a Sanyo 42" TV, and we were very excited until I did the research and realized what a colossally bad idea it would be to strap the box to the top of my minivan and drive for about 250 miles. So after checking into shipping it home,...

Mrs. Hentzau is indeed brilliant.

Congratulations on the new TV. And, I would say that this is one of those times when size does matter.

"P.S." There are in fact different versions of HDMI.

Vacation on!!!

I'm off until the end of the year! I have way too many vacation days.

But it shall not be just me lounging around eating bon-bons and looking at nekkid SG pictures, oh no. I am working on cleaning out my gaming room. I spent a long time today staring at the monolith of comic book boxes, and once again had to fight...

I just made the perfect BLT. Thanks to the miracle that is the bacon weave!

Go ahead, google it. Your life will be transformed!

I'd like a BLT sandwich on wheat toast. No mayonnaise, no tomato, and no lettuce. And a cup of coffee. Now all you have to do is hold the toast, bring me the bacon, give me a check for the BLT sandwich, and you haven't broken any rules.

Mmm... bacon.
notoriousdug:
The bacon weave sounds like some kind of tasty hairpiece.

Mom and dad made it home from AL last night. They drove. Dad's plane is totaled, but he has it plenty insured, so he can get another one.

Not so sure how I feel about that. smile

Going to be heading downstate on Wednesday to see them. And deal with my meth dealing trailer living white trash relatives over thanksgiving. Thank god my dad gave up...

If your dad's going to buy a new airplane, maybe he should get one of these.

I figure your mom can ride in the back seat.

Someone is watching out for my parents. And whoever it is, THANK YOU!!!

Mom escaped with bruised ribs. Dad broke his nose. One passenger broke his jaw, the other was unhurt.

Jesus christ.

I'm glad everything is okay.
silversurfer:
Wow. Pretty dramatic.

I'm really glad that nothing worse than that happened.

Final two nights of Forever Plaid.

I'm really going to miss this show. frown
silversurfer:
Sadly, all good things must come to an end.

I did enjoy seeing this play. It's a fun time, and it certainly gives you a chance to showcase your considerable vocal talents. The rest of the audience seemed to like it a lot too.

You know that you are really into the show you are doing when you hate it when they give you a night off from rehearsals.

silversurfer:
Sounds like rehearsing this show is really fun. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Things are getting rather biblical around the house these days.

First off, we had the flood in our basment on Saturday.

Now, two of my kids have a plague of lice.

If frogs and locusts show up next, as the eldest child in my family, I'm getting the fuck out of Dodge.

I was just thinking about you and your kids.
I was saying to my girls, "No one throws up as much as you kids!"
and then I remembered!

How's life treating you?
Besides the 7 plagues theme you've got going on now.

"There shall, in that time, be rumors of things going astray, and there shall be a great confusion as to where things really are, and nobody will really know where lieth those little things with the sort of raffia work base that has an attachment. At this time, a friend shall lose his friend's hammer, and the young shall not know where lieth the things possessed by their fathers that their fathers put there only just the night before, about eight o'clock."
