Ugh.

Crokinole was great. Played until 2AM. Laughed a ton. Needed more food, though.

However...furnace install is another story. We were buying a 2 stage 95% efficency furnace, and the dorkwad salesguy messed up and didn't realize that we couldn't run the exhaust out through the side of the house, and the only way we could get it to work would be to run it...

Yikes.

Still, I foresee a satisfactory conclusion to this story....

Well, all kinds of excitement going on around the Hentzau demesne. Today, we are getting a new furnace and A/C put in. That should take about 10 hours they said, and we are looking forward to having a nice warm toasty house.

Tonight will be lots and lots and lots of crokinole. Going to meet up with my fellow Plaids and play crokinole until our...

I watch Glee, and I wish I was a tenor for a few minutes. Cause frankly, a mashup of "Don't Stand So Close to Me" and "Young Girl" is brilliant!

But then a few minutes later I remember that basses are way cooler, and I get over it.

Yes, way cooler. EL SUICIDO LOCO

Was channel surfing and just stumbled across an episode of The Prisoner on IFC. I flipped it on, and am watching it with my 10 and 13 year old.

We had the following conversation about 10 minutes into it.

Kids: "What's going on?"
Me: "I don''t know!"
Kids: "But you watched them before?"
Me: "Yep."
Kids: "So what's going on?"
Me: "I DON"T KNOW!!!"

Man,...

Grr. Stupid kids. Added Spectacular Spider Man to my DVR queue, and it bumped Glee off of the recording schedule.

Now, while I appreciate the fact that my kids want to watch Spider Man enough to record it, DON"T MESS WITH MY GLEE!!!

Grr.

Dood...Hulu!

Glee, hunh? Sounds interesting.

I really should stop watching Good Eats at night. I have been searching all day for a pickle crock...I really want to make up a batch of homemade pickles and then deep fry some of them.

The latest food fad at my house is Rice-a-Roni. Me, myself, and I all agree -- it's cheap, tasty, and, most importantly, easy to make. Favorite flavors include original and rice pilaf.

Watching "That Thing You Do" for about the 3,000th time. It's just one of those movies that if I see it on, I have to stop and watch it. If I'm in a bad mood, it immediately cheers me up.

It's a "video redundancy' movie. I own it on DVD, and yet I sit here, watching it on broadcast. And what's worse...it's in standard def...

Kind of like when you're listening to the radio, and they play one of your favorite songs, that's on a CD that you own.

Only with visuals, and two hours long.

The Big Lebowski does the same for me. No matter what, that movie cheers me up. However, I don't know if it's ever been on broadcast television, because they'd have to beep half of it out.

I hope you had a good birthday! smile

Well, I caved. Picked up the Beatles Rock Band Limited Edition. My 10 year old daughter has become a huge Beatles fan, and she screamed when she saw me carry it in. We shoved the furniture to the side, assembled drums, set up mics, got the guitars set up, and we were set. 6 year old son on drums, 10 year old on vocals, 13...

Sounds like a rockin' good time for the whole family.

I'm joking around, but that really does sound like fun.

As birthdays go, this one was OK. Went to church and sang (which made my fans happy), and then we all went out to eat. Had a bit of a struggle figuring out where to go, but finally settled on Chili's. Figuring out where to eat with kids is always a challenge, especially when the only place they can all agree to go eat is...

Lunch at Chili's, followed by lounging around doing next to nothing? And a pretty bad BBC production of The Three Musketeers thrown in for good measure? Sounds a lot better than OK to me.

So last night we had ribs and corn on the cob and potatoes and Dairy Queen ice cream cake and lots of other snacks and then more ribs. We dirtied almost EVERY dish and glass in the cabin.

This morning, I get up and take my shower. When I get out, Shawn, our gay cast member, was back from running an errand and was elbow...
