I've been tuning out my negative thoughts about this job lately...but they are starting to compound.

1: By the time my grandfather was my age, he had 4 kids and had built a house by hand. Here I am...doing the work of a college intern...at age 30.
2: I was told I wouldn't have to drive out to N. Franklin more than once a week. So far this week it's been 3 times, and I will probably end up there today. That's 150 miles both ways...though I do get paid for the drive, so it's not the end of the world.
3. Yesterday my day consisted of driving 1.5 hours, then processing ONE head, sorting hunting tags, and driving 1.5 hours home. Not even sure why I went in...
4: I am not going to get a permanent position with the D.E.E.P. No one is set to retire for 11 years...and even then I don't have a bachelor's. They'd probably hire some kid out of college.

So Christine and I are giving serious thought to moving to a college town and opening a liquor store. Liquor stores are one of the few places left in existence that are not affected by economic turmoil.
My dream would be a pet store...but they sink fast...so...booze.

We'll see if we can even do this.
