Not even counting driving to get my state car and driving home after dropping the state car off...I drove 183+ miles today.
That includes driving to NY State to pick up 7 deer heads. I literally drove 1.5 hours for 5 minutes of loading deer heads into a cooler, then drove 1.5 hours back.
Fun fun fun.
Tomorrow I drive back to base in N. Franklin...which is about 1.75 hours from my car, process them all (harvest the tonsils) and then hopefully call it an early day. Considering the 3-4 hours it will take to drive to and from N. Franklin counts as working...it's not ALL bad.
Looking forward to the weekend.
Seeing as I have no options but to continue working...I will stick with this job while looking for something better. (Always looking for better)
However...I don't think I will be returning next season once this season is up. It's not a terrible job...but I thought it would be more outside work and less sitting. Yesterday I literally spent 7.5 hours in a car...
I went from sitting behind a desk...to sitting behind a steering wheel.
The only bonus so far...not really dealing with the general public (just some slaughterhouse and taxidermy guys) and no bullshit from a piece of crap boss.
Then again, my new boss is away fighting a forest fire, so I have no real idea what he is like. Haha.
