My first clutch was 5 eggs. 1 died early in the incubation. Today was day 51, and most snake breeders cut a small window in the eggs to see what they have and to make sure the snake can get out of the egg when it is done absorbing it's yolk and wants to come out.
So I cut my eggs. 2 were fine...but it's hard to tell what they are at the moment. 2...went almost full term and died.

The second one...not sure what it was going to be, but it looked KILLER. Pisses me off...
Yes, that is a piece of the tail missing on that one. When I cut open the egg (after I knew it was dead) to pull it out, I accidentally clipped it. I am much more careful cutting the eggs with live babies inside.
I'm hoping one of the living babies will at least prove out the mother as a genetic mutation. We'll see once they come out.
I don't think I am going to pair them up again next season. I'll put the female to a different male and see what happens. Some eggs just don't survive.

I'm hoping the Ball python Gods gave me this shitty clutch so that my second clutch of pastel to pastel will give me 1 male and 4 female super pastels .
A man can hope...
