I just read on my cousin's facebook post that a school one town from me is having a half-day tomorrow and Thursday because of heat.
Really?
When I was a fucking kid, if it was hot...we sat in the SHADE.
Then again, my playground was TAR...and had monkey bars we could fall off of and break things...over the tar.
We didn't have this shredded tire bullshit. We played dodgeball...and you got an award if you EARNED it.
It also took more than a pulse to earn honors.
Then we wonder why we have a bunch of rude, useless teenagers on our hands...
It's because we fucking hand them everything without having to earn it...so they expect it later in life.

I agree. Everyone is so scared these days at taking any kind of risk. Any negativity must be avoided at all costs. Our culture is out of balance, it has become too femonized. Its not like I'm against my own gender or anything, I just can't stand how everyone is so against struggle and confrontation. We are becoming a country full of damn pansies scared to hurt anyone's feelings or get hurt ourselves. I'm in the military and I have to watch my mouth around people just because I might 'offend' someone. Makes me sick.
