Ever have one of those days where something awesome happens, and something super shitty has to happen to even it out?
Today was one of those.
Back story:
I've been trying to get my male cinnamon ball python to lock up with a female for weeks. No dice. Finally I see him locked up this morning. Woot!
The shitty part:
A while back I sold a snake to a friend of my brother. He left for Afghanistan, and I offered to watch the snake, thinking "sweet, she's gotta be huge by now and I can breed her!"
I go pick up this snake...and it is a wreck. It hasn't grown, it's deathly skinny, stuck shed...you name it.
So I take it home with the hopes of bringing it back to health.
Put it in it's tank, feed it a mouse sized rat, and leave it alone.
Two days later it pukes up the partially digested rat...
and today it's dead.
God damn it.
Luckily I am not to blame, since it was apparently beyond saving when I got it. Just pisses me off.
I emailed the kid's girlfriend and told her about it. She doesn't blame me and had no idea that is what a snake is NOT supposed to look like. (You'd think the fact that it had NO muscle tone...and it's spine was clearly sticking out would give it away...)
-Me
-Added-
I watched a documentary called "Food Inc" on Netflix...and I pretty much don't want to eat from a grocery store ever again...
problem is I have to until the local farmer's markets are open again. I also found two farms within driving distance of my house that sell grass fed beef. It's more expensive, but I will pay the difference.
I really can't wait until I have my little homestead and I can grow/hunt almost everything I eat.
Two more years of college...I have to. I won't find anything decent with anything less than a Bachelor's, so...it has to be done. I'll probably continue my Environmental science/ecology major and minor in Biology. (Since I'm almost there anyway.)
