I get to work today, and there is a fax from my boss.
Here's what happened.
On 6-7, one of my co-workers took in a check for $2000. They wrote it down on the "audit sheet" (what I use at night to tell how much money we made that day) as $1000.
It was entered as $1000 into the computer, and dropped in the safe.
Hence, the audit for that night, was $1000 short.
A: The audit amount matched the computer amount. That tells me that it SHOULD be correct, seeing as I can't get in the safe to verify the deposit. That is the point of the safe...to keep us away from the money. A-DUUUUUH!!!

B: My boss, who sent me the fax, knew that the audit for that night was exactly $1000 short, and knew why. WHY DIDN'T SHE JUST FIX IT?
It would have taken her a hell of a lot LESS effort to change the original $1299.04 to $2299.04...
but instead she leaves me a HAND WRITTEN note pointing out the mistake, and tells ME to fix it.
A mistake that wasn't even mine. See, if the check had been written down as $2000, and entered as $1000 or vice versa, I would have known something was wrong and called people to verify.
But since both numbers matched up, and I didn't have access to the actual check...
there was no way for me to know.

I hate being blamed for other people's stupidity.
