wow, I think I moved to Kansas or something! seriously!
I worked late last night. I watched a cart being blown towards the store. keep in mind....the parking lot slopes AWAY from the store!
cart racks where blown sideways. all sorts of fun stuff!
driving home...yeah, there were branches blown down. one person said she watched a power line snap. yay for the remnants of...

shit. i heard about the hurricanes. chicken gumbo soup sounds delish.
so, the job search is still going on. I plan on sending out a resume and cover letter to a local agency....school based counselor. I figure that having a Masters in Counseling and Masters in School Counseling should help me qualify.
I also talked to a security guard at Wegmans last night. he is from a military background, he was in the Armed Services as...

Good luck with your search! I hope you find something that is just right for you! Keep focusing on what you most want/need and it will find its way to you.

Looking for jobs on a military base is a great idea, it would pay well I bet! I watched two and a half men today, I think I am the guy Charlie Sheen play, I hope I am not the other guy.
so 2 things...
last night, working. cashier. flying along, a girl comes through chatting on her cell phone. pays by Credit, I hit the button, then she goes "Oh, I have coupons...is it too late?"
yes....so I tell her that if she goes to the Service Desk, they'll take care of everything.
the next customer in line goes "And if you weren't so busy talking...

yah - bittersweet indeed...blech. it's been a long day. if you head this way, i will definitely be able to give you some information. it's actually pretty cheap in terms of a city for rents, etc. i kind of like it lately. i had yummy coffee and chat with a friend tonight. this made me like where i live.
well, not much to really speak of, another weekend of working.
a bunch of late night cashier shifts this weekend, too.
tormented a new coordinator.
and applied for 2 different jobs....one is a Part-time (.8) position at the expensive school district (richest district in the area), the other is a Long-Term sub position.
wish me luck!
sleeping is still all wonky and such. last night,...

you make a lot of sense my dear. i think the thing i am figuring out, i picked up a drink mentally a long time before i picked up a drink. ehhh - just babbling. maybe not the titanic, but it feels pretty damned close right about now.
and i'm still thinking about you and the job situation and keeping my fingers crossed!

Gah those sleeping patterns are crazy!
Have you heard anything back from any jobs that you have applied for? Other than - " oh, our funding is cut"?

well, for the few of you keeping up, here's the latest on my car:
last night, filled the transmission up with fluid. no noticeable leaks.
drove it to work (20 minute to 30 hour drive). mostly highway driving, some hills. no problems shifting gears (up or down).
before I left work this morning, checked the levels, still good.
drove home, again, no problems with shifting....

thanks....
bender99:
Have I ever told you I love you?
well, my transmission side cover is replaced. the outside was rusted and I could see where fluid was leaking out. however, the inside was still good (so nothing leaked through).
how great will the seal be? okay....I got most of the rust off.
now I'm just low on transmission fluid (it leaked out big time). its sitting in a bucket...figure 2 or 3 pints low!...

You really do need to replace the fluid.
ahh, I so love a screwed up sleep schedule. especially one fueled by work.
here's what my weekends are like now:
work Friday night from 11:30 PM to 8:00-ish AM (depending on when I get my lunch break).
work Saturday night from 11:30 PM to 8:00-ish AM again.
and then work Sunday from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM pushing carts.
yup, 10 hours between shifts....

School started today and I am sitting at home
bender99:
I have an interview with a tutoring centre tonight, there is an orientation session right after. I will let you know how it goes.
well, its 9 AM and I'm awake. not too bad except for 2 things:
1. I went to bed around 5 AM
2. I work until 2 AM tonight.
so I'm going to write this blog and hopefully go back to sleep. yeah, I woke up because I ate a chocolate cream pie. yeah, bad for me (food allergies and all)...but it does taste oh...

i appreciate what you wrote...i am just going with my head on this one right now. you made much sense and it sounds like things are getting better for you on the job front, it's never easy looking. and for all the talk of teachers, needing them, recruiting them, and retaining them, the system never works out how they will pay for them. i iwll keep my fingers crossed for you....
and you are very thoughtful and insightful....

well, I found out more interesting things about the Rochester job market.
on Sunday, a new Wegmans store opened. about $20 million in building the new store. Wegmans is moving away from a small scale store style (which the founder of the company used) to a large scale "supermarket" style store. which might be good. however, since people do like the small store feel, I...

They probably just want to make some of their warranty money back
well, no news on the job search front. no phone call from York. which, by the way, has 2 jobs posted.
an art teacher for the elementary school and the 9-12 Guidance Counselor. so this makes me wonder.
are they just slow in getting things done?
are they slow in pulling a posting down after its been filled?
what's up with that?
so Monday, I...

I still think your stepfather is making money from a kickback on the deals he gets from his buddy

I have always found that getting parts from NAPA was cheaper than getting parts from the dealer. I think Tunnel is right your step dad is getting kickbacks
