I look at my exhaust....its white. that's not right.

since I have my cruise control on, I turn it off to coast.....the RPM's go down, but the car doesn't downshift.

crap.

pull off to the side of the road, shut off the engine. its still smoking some.

Thats more money than what ive got in any of the cars i own. i have 1800 in all 3. Sad really since the tractor is worth double that.

The cops have the drive those four cameras record on, the system uses one drive for every four cameras .... of course all the drives are in hot swap bays.

Buy a used transmision and radiator, the junk yards have the trade school kids rebuild them , sell for 1/4 the price with the same warranty. If you have a trade school nearby ..... you could have everything done right there for a crazy low price.

okay, new post. yes, I have read the comments on my previous post, thank you everyone who wrote out a thoughtful reply. that's what I love sometimes....people willing to intelligently debate (and something that seems lacking right now). do I agree with the new TSA security measures? not necessarily. however, I don't want federal resources and my tax dollars going into a lawsuit someone has...

so typically I remain very, well, apolitical here. yes, I have political views, and if people wish to discuss them, I will. however, I don't post my political views very often because, well, I find it obnoxious.

this time, I am though. and some of the ideas and arguments here I am pulling from a radio show I listen to (Rover's Morning Glory) where he...

Fuck it ................................. one of the joys of owning a jet is never having to set foot in an airport terminal and having to deal with all that bullshit.

I'm so pleased to read a blog from someone who seems to have their head screwed on straight. I've been staying away from the boards that discuss this because I feel that people are being very narrow-minded, and I can see myself getting into arguments with people.

I read something in a book recently (Robert Harris I think) that summed things up rather nicely.... the gist of it was this.... have two planes, one where there is no screening, no profiling, no scanners, no luggage searches, nothing and one where you go through all the security and everything. People can choose to fly on one or the other.... which one do you think people will choose?

work has been, well, work. except we're missing someone. one of our cashiers over the weekend (part time, like 99% of our cashiers...I think we have 3 full-time cashiers...and 2 are cashiers because the department that hired them full-time didn't like them and ditched them on the front end) was in a house fire. while everyone survived, from Sunday through possibly tonight she has been...

oh joy, tonight the store is being decorated "for the holidays". last year, when everyone was doing this, I played "The Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack. preparing this year with Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

and in other news, wish my 2nd cousin luck...she (and her husband and three kids) are moving from Camp Legume in North Carolina to California. he's in the Marines, and his choice for moving...

okay, election day has come and gone. can my TV now show commercials instead of political slander campaigns? and can the politicians get their collective heads out of their asses and focus on fixing what's wrong with our country (the many things wrong), working together, instead of making "the other party" look bad and fighting each other? 'cause the losers to that fight are the...

so Halloween and I get to work. add rain and 36 F weather (near 0 C) and no kids. oh well, such is life.

worked last night as well...so I "wore" a costume. at Wegmans, if you are 15, your name tag is red. if you are 16 or 17, it is a yellow name tag. 18 and over have a black or silver name...

So if I am to understand you correctly, if a kid wears a red name tag all the managers know how many hours the kid has worked? Is it a psychic name tag? Does it telepathically tell manager how many hours the kid has worked that week? And if the kid works too many hours does it call the proper authorities?

I kid I kid. biggrin
hellstorm:
most employees look at the name tag colors as this....Red means way underage, don't even bother. Yellow means getting close, so start the friendship to move to something more later.

and at the very least, it allows the managers to make sure the person isn't working too late (or early) nor doing a job they are not supposed to do (like using power cutting equipment).

and Bender....it was almost scary that the Bills won this week...did someone decide to dress up as the Buffalo Bills and make them competitive?
