cars almost fixed...rear brake drums..

new hardware (springs and such). taking them off, one of the shoes came off the backing. so new brake shoes. then when cleaning it up....the wheel cylinders were leaking. finally the brake lines would not come off.....so new one of those (that connect to the back of the wheel cylinders).

and now for sleep and see how it runs tomorrow!

curious ... do you ever take your car in for regular maintanance, .. or do you like to just wait until it gets to the falling apart stage?

I am pretty worried about him too. I know Al has called him a number of times but hasn't gotten a response.

Stop by his page regularly waiting to see an update. Hoping he is OK.

so a day off....organized my comic books (missing 7 issues right now) and doing laundry. cooked chicken, stuffing, and steamed broccoli for dinner (aka, only meal I ate today). seriously think this is a bad trend I'm on, eating about once a day (twice at most) and snacking the rest of the day. seriously bad trend.

continuing with the workout video. now I'm on a...

new back tires makes for a smoother ride. had the front ones replaced about 2 years ago (after inspection failed them). getting some road noise/vibrations. plus the back ones, well, about 3 weeks ago or so, pumped the tires up to 35 psi. checked this past weekend....one was at 20 psi and the other at 10 psi. so yeah, a problem there!

in other news,...

so what does it mean when my blood pressure after exercising for almost an hour is lower than my Mom's blood pressure when she's resting?

just curious.

Either you are in damn damn damn good shape or your mom needs to get better blood pressure meds

so the debt ceiling for the country is about to be hit, and its up to Congress to vote to raise the ceiling or the government has to shut down. this includes stopping payments of tax refunds, military pay, and so forth.

now, some Congressmen feel that, in the name of "fiscal responsibility", they will vote against raising the debt ceiling. I kind of agree,...

For once I would love to see total disclosure on every piece of legislation that is passed. Especially the crappy pork barrel projects that get added on as a rider to pass them. Point out who added what along with a total cost in dollars to the taxpayers and call out the asshole(s) that put them there. Give the President the line item veto back and see how well that works. And you are right, it is not the President's fault to a point. If a shit bill comes across his desk, he should veto it and explain to the people why it was vetoed, especially if it included nonsensical horseshit like pay raises or solely partisan interests that benefit a select group of individuals. Instead of signing off on things for the sake of passing legislation.

I have them bookmarked biggrin

car is fixed. still a little noise, but not what it was. not sure what the noise is, something to figure out. then again, taking apart the brakes, removing the rotors, taking the entire steering knuckle out and replacing the tie rods....all to replace the wheel bearings, yeah, something might have changed.

started around 2:30 PM. my step-father's front license plate holder fell off. he...

what makes it even better.....started off replacing the front license plate holder for my step-father's car. his broke off (and New York State requires a front and back license plate). the older holder was held on by a bracket under the bumper (1998 Honda Accord). this one is mounted right onto the front bumper, in the "flat spot" where the plate goes.

his response?

gee, no thank you for buying the parts and doing the work (including getting the old plate out of the old holder that had the bolts rusted tight). nice, huh?

new jar of sauce (free) to replace the one broken from the last blog. woke up Monday night for work and had to spend 1/2 hour cleaning glass up in the kitchen. my step-father did not hear anything break....and he was awake and in the adjoining room! but he's right, he has no hearing problems!

still got to get into this writing thing again. I...
