well, more car repair. I'm driving home and going "Why do I smell burning rubber?"

and a weird whiny kind of noise from my engine. and things seem to be a little stiff for steering. odd....my dash lights aren't working.

going home...the battery light pops on.

yup, after 11 years and 102,000+ miles......the alternator went.

just my luck!

another week down, including my 6 week evaluation. I really have to work on stream lining my progress note writing. pull out what's pertinent and leave out what's not. I might have to do a few exercises over the next week to go this....taking an hour or so to write a contact note might work when I have 2 or 3 cases...but when I have...

health fair at Wegmans yesterday. so I went and got my blood pressure, BMI, Hip to waist ratio checked, as well as blood glucose levels and cholesterol levels.

here's what I found out:

my blood pressure was 116/82
choloesterol level was 147, HDL was 38 (3.9 TC/HDL ratio)
blood glucose was 88
the waist/hip ratio was 0.9
BMI was high (29).

so guess I'm in...

got my assignment. I will be in CPS Investigations. its a start, and there's opportunities for movement. also got my work phone. so feel like I've arrived now!

yeah, that's all...time to hit the gym. want to change up things in my routine. 1/2 hour weights and 1/2 cardio each day. anyone know a good routine or something for me to do? or where I...

CPS investigations... that's tough. Keep fighting the good fight though!

Good for you!

As for the Jeep, something to consider - how much do you drive? I have a long ass commute and my car gets 28 mpg on the highway. And that's not enough. My brother has a Prius (he's leasing it for $250/mo) and doing the math, I'd be saving about $200/month in gas alone if I drove that instead.

But if your commute isn't too bad, then it doesn't matter. I have a larger vehicle because my former drummer didn't have a car and I had to drive his ass around and carry both my amp/guitars & his drums.

As for working out, all routines are good routines. I'd start out with a half hour of cardio then do a half hour of weights, which is exactly what you're doing. Of course, do NOT do the same weights right after another. You might want to alternate between body parts. Like maybe arms and shoulders one day then legs and stomach the next. Most importantly, you're working out. That's what matters.

so Happy Mother's Day all....or as I see it, Happy My Only Parent Day.

so today started with 5 1/2 hours of work. got home, started laundry and hung a new set of blinds for my room (the windows were replaced on Saturday and I did not want to go back to the institutional white blinds that were up). I now have black blinds in...

well, three weeks almost down at the job. still lots and lots of information to learn. but I'm getting there!

signed up for all my benefits this week...kind of. I might be in the Tier IV retirement plan instead of Tier VI. what does that mean? I can retire at an earlier age if I so choose. and more importantly (since you get a pension),...

just cleaned out my closet some.....giving about 8 to 10 of my work shirts (Wegmans) to my older sister (who just started at Wegmans). I am keeping 3 shirts total. if I end up running out, then Wegmans is doing something wrong (since I'm available 2 days a week only).

2nd week done.....lots of classroom training. we're talking "Risk Assessments" and "Safety Plans" and "18...

well, car is in the shop....pretty sure its the back wheel bearings. considering that the one bearing is original (2002 Neon with over 100,000 miles on it), I won't complain. plus knew it was going bad.

see how much this will cost me.

one week down. kind of funny, its seems so different than what you learn in education classes. you hear the worst case scenarios in these classes. and from what i see, its more of "how can I help this family succeed?" as a model instead of "separate the family" as a model.

give me a few weeks, let me see the nitty gritty and go...
