Well, today was interesting...driving down the expressway, in a construction zone. I was able to merge over and hit a lane shift where people were slowing down to a ridiculous degree. 2 cars ahead of me stops suddenly...so the car ahead of them stopped, so I slammed on my brakes.
And rear ended the car ahead of me. Since I have a Jetta and the other car was an SUV, it amounted to a crumpled hood and some damage to my car (needing to be towed). Their car had a piece the officer took off and they were able to drive to work. I guess I wasn't going too fast, as my air bags didn't go off and I didn't get whiplash (as far as I can tell).
What a day....and I don't have collision, so looking at a hefty cost...guessing around $5000, but hopefully less! We'll just have to wait and see!
