so my step-father closed his father's estate Friday. he waived the executor fee and had that money divided up between him and his 3 siblings. after all, the will basically said "divide the estate 4 ways between the children, each child has to pay back to the other 3 what they owe". so 5 to 7 grandchildren (my older sister and I were treated as grandchildren but technically are not) and 7+ great-grandchildren get nothing. nice, huh?
well, yesterday I owed my step-father about $1300 for car repairs (I was paying him back about $250 a month, but planned on bumping it up to $500 a month). he said he was planning on giving each one of us $3000, so he wrote me a check for the remaining balance.
hey, I won't complain...but do I take the $1700 and pay some bills with it or buy me either a new laptop or tablet? anyone? and as an FYI....apples are something you eat!

ps-and still trying to find a place in Rochester to get the circuit board work done.....WD Mybooks are encrypted to the actual circuit board, so need to get the usb port soldered on.....anyone offer help or suggestions? thanks!

That's a lot of bucks, unless you are considering a serious editing/gaming laptop. The point is, you could do some of each....
