done with the five day straight of overnight shifts. now I get to try and get a "normal" sleep schedule only to mess it all up starting Sunday (when I start the overnights again).

the full-time person might bitch because I did a candy order. he normally orders very lightly....to the point of having empty shelves on multiple registers (the candy we stock is what you see on the front-end registers). it is not unheard of for him to order and still have several gaps (at 20 or 30 items). and no back stock. management allows it to happen I guess....although one time when the company went to fire him, he claimed "Minority" to keep his job (or so I was told by someone who hates him). oh well....if the management team really looked at things and talked to people, they might be surprised (although he did catch the Store Manager's attention when he punches out to leave work and has a cart full of groceries to take to his car.....when did he do his shopping?). the overnight people figure that if he starts bitching about me ordering (since I have been working this position for 6 years and trained him....but what do I know?), they will say the 3rd man did the order. and it will shut him up (the 3rd man told the Front End manager he won't work with the full-time overnight cashier, only me....otherwise he'll "slap the shit" out of the full-timer).

and to make the ending of the five day shift even more fun, we ended up sending a customer to the hospital. an old lady comes in, saying she doesn't feel too good. she decides to shop (I told her if she needs any help at all, ask any employee) and comes back up a few minutes later saying she can't shop. her coordination is off....her blood sugar (newly diagnosed diabetic) spiked to between 400 and 500 (whatever units). keep in mind "normal" is 80 to 120, 140 is pushing it for being high. she sits down and the Night Crew chief asks if she wants us to call the paramedics for her....she says she wants the paramedics only to check her blood sugar. they arrive, talk to her, she has trouble standing to get on the gurney. she wants to drive home, they won't let her....she ends up taking the trip to the hospital. hopefully they figure out what is going on. and towards the end of this....the one Assistant Store manager comes in and is wondering what is up. we tell him....he seems quite happy how we took care of the customer's needs.

and so how was your night? now I have to sort through the new "Chaos War" Heroclix set I just got a brick of....hey, I got the Lockjaw/Hairball double base click. hey, do you have a Heroclix of a cat/dog duo that are the leaders of the Pet Avengers? thought so! tongue
