no news yet...time to check my mail and see if I have a letter. if not, I'm sending an e-mail to the Director that will basically go like this:
Dear Director (leaving his name out),
I was under the impression from when we spoke that a decision would be made last week regarding the position. I understand things were probably quite hectic (with the end of the quarter and coordinating the needed services for the Thanksgiving Break), and was just wondering where the Office stood regarding the position. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

what sucks about this waiting...I do believe I nailed the interview. I heard "We are starting a wellness initiative across campus" and I responded often with "I did programming for five years on Wellness programming, including co-developing a programming model for a Residence Life office based on the Wellness Wheel." I heard "We seem to be having issues with students and communicating with each other, regarding relationships and such," and I spoke of four years as a peer educator in a group that focused on all aspects of relationships. One person said how he wants to re-start the Peer Education group on campus, to which I replied "I spent four years a peer educator, being in the group when it started from the beginning, and an additional 2 years advising a peer educator group, when it was in a period of turmoil (about a new president each semester), so I learned how to really work with the group to build a strong, solid foundation to grow on."
then you add the Director telling me I have experience and education the other candidates just do not have, how they have "generalist" degrees, while I have a focused degree as well.
you would think all of this would pay off...knowing my luck, it will be a "We decided to go with the younger candidates, that don't know as much as you do, but we can train them," or something along those lines.
as is my luck....
and news flash...the congressional committee to reduce the deficit failed....because they couldn't agree on anything. why does it seem that the only thing congress can agree upon is giving themselves a pay raise and more benefits? 2012, if I were running, my slogan would be simple..."I'll put the needs of the American People ahead of the wants of my party" and follow thought with it....if we had a turn-over of congress, where Independents with that mindset got in....wow, imagine where the country could go!

Right now I use melatonin and benadryl which can help (rarely) and I try to not drink coffee, soda or anything else with caffeine past about noon....I know for a fact that stress is making it worse, though insomnia has been a problem for me since puberty...and I have tried, er, physical activity but that will only make it worse if it's right before I try to sleep. Has there been any other suggestions that people found really worked in the group??

I'm a firm believe that politicians should make 15% more than the median income of their constituents. Keep these fuckers from making a career out of it.
