....and still no word. since I was told by the end of this week....guessing its another in a line of rejections for jobs. hate how people keep telling me to stay positive....since December 2007, I have interviewed for and received the following job offers:

5 1/2 week long-term substitute position (where I was 1 of 2 candidates interviewing for the job)
substitute teaching position

outside of that, nothing. this includes the fact that the district I substitute teach at may have hired a new school counselor (my certification area) this summer....and I got no call for an interview. nice, since the district is supposed to be known for hiring from its substitute list. so can anyone tell me how I can maintain a positive outlook? I'm 35 right now, approaching 36, and have worked full-time for a total of 5 years of my life. yet I have worked pretty consistently since I was 17. my college breaks were me working. in college, I had a job (or 2) to help pay my bills. I have taken a total of about, oh, 3 or 4 weeks vacation total since I started working. but I guess I"m part of the 150 million lazy people out there that some of these Republican candidates says can't find a job because I'm not trying.

so it looks like I made a huge mistake in 2005 when I decided to change my career field for a little happiness. now, I'm stuck in a part-time job without any real outlook for relief (since I can not move out of the area due to a lack of funds) and the only jobs in the area seem to be in business and manufacturing (which they want experience and/or education in.....that which I do not have. and having maxed out my student loans....going back to school is not an option either).

let's hear it for a great job market out there! job creators....bite me! the government bailed your asses out when you fucked up....and yet no jobs are out there. but I bet your CEO's have great bonuses for making a profit!

so anyone out there have suggestions? my younger sister keeps sending me stuff from North Carolina....except she doesn't realize I need to be able to get a place to live first (she moved to North Carolina, moved in with eventual in-laws, and got her job because her future aunt walked in with her, was friends with the director and got her the job).

boy I love this country sometimes....don't you? whatever

oh...and just read that the big banks are laying off people this week.....let's hear it for those job creators!

Then you should have asked why you were passed over at the place you were a substitute teacher for. That would make me mad if a less qualified person got a job out from under me! I think emailing (or calling) the Director at this new place on Monday is a great idea and I hope they open up some more spots to give you even more of a chance! smile

btw, sorry if I broke a psychology group rule, I did tell someone they would make a lousy therapist... frown (I think with good reason) But I'll try to avoid that stuff in the future.
