so my vacation is pushed back at least a day....the parental units were cleaning out the Jeep, put the keys in to move it.....and nothing.
the lights go on, the bell dings....even the radio works. but when the key is turned to start the Jeep...you get no clicking noise or cranking or anything. it just does nothing new (but the lights stay on and the bell keeps dinging).
some quick diagnostics on my part...
changed relay switches, nothing
checked park/neutral switch (tried starting in both gears, nothing)
little trouble shooting with AAA lady....nothing
oh the joys....and I was looking forward to returning from work tomorrow morning to a nice, quiet house and a few days off!
oh well...time to work tonight on little sleep and see where it goes from there!

so the Jeep diagnosis.....a small metal piece in the starter broke off. a small metal piece that can only be bought as a unit from the Dealership to the tune of $500.
