so I've determined....we have some really dumb people out there.
last night, some guy comes through the line buying beer. now, the store policy is that everyone in the group is proofed (especially with college students), and if you are refused, its for 24 hours. well, Dumbfuck is sitting there talking with his friend, Dipshit. the cashier asks for ID.
"what?"
we explain the policy and such, Dumbfuck says he just turned 21. we look at him and go "Great, we need your ID and your friend's ID." a few hemming and hawing....finally, Dumbfuck admits that Dipshit is not 21. sorry, no selling the beer to you.
Dumbfuck goes "If I knew that, I wouldn't have shopped here."
We ask if he still wants his stuff. he says no. okay, I go to void the order (about $64 of stuff) and then he goes "No, never mind, I'll buy it."
whatever.
they walk out, he's bitching.
five minutes later....Dumbfuck comes walking in. the cashier goes "If you're going to buy beer, I'm not selling it to you."
he goes "Why not? my friend went home, and I'm by myself now."
I look at him, and go "Store policy is that when you are refused, you are refused for 24 hours."
he asks under what authority, to which I go "We hold the liquor license, we have the authority here."
he walks out, bitching about the company and such.
we go on our merry way...and determine. we seriously need to start either shooting dumb customers or have a camera to take their picture and post in the back under "Dumbasses of the Week" or something like that.

People are stupid. Working in customer service is likely to kill anyones trust in humanity. I constantly have people calling, trying to convince me that they did not and never have, actively searched for and then applied for our product, been approved, received services and paid a regular amount for X amount of years and that they want the account closed without further costs.
