and in other news...in New York State, a billionaire recently gave the state a grant of millions to fund school supplies for needy children. sounds like a great idea. but comes the question of how to distribute the funds.
the Governor of New York State (Patterson, who, BTW, is having his ratings plummet) decides that the best way to distribute the funds is to give those who get foodstamps that have children in a qualifying age (say, 7 to 15) a $200 payment on through their foodstamps card, that can be withdrawn as cash, for each chiild.
so many ATM's got cleared out as people took out $200 that was basically given to them for buying school supplies.
me wonders..think all $200 went to buying supplies? or other things?
me....I figure a great way to distribute the money would have been working through the individual districts. provide the money so the districts can buy the needed supplies. have something where kids show up on the first day of school, and waiting for them is a backpack or something with pens, paper, notebooks, and all the other supplies they would need. probably a great way to really spread the money around as well.

The gov should use the money to deport illegal aliens
Patterson's plan is most likely to try and skate out of this term without any lawsuits nailing his ass to the wall, and skating off into the sunset
