thank you for the kind words everyone, it is really appreciated.
so things are starting to look up a bit for me. first off, I'm on "Vacation". you see, my mom and step-father are in North Caroline until Tuesday evening, visiting my younger sister who lives down there. she's having troubles as well. her job, well, she was kind of "given", and she hates it. come the first of the year, she's resigning. why? she simply hates being a supervisor without backing.
so what have I been doing? not a whole lot. really. seriously. today is a Federal holiday, so I've been sleeping and relaxing basically. and meeting some class mates of mine for lunch today (okay, classmate and ex-classmate....we worked on a project together last semester). it should be fun!
and not too much outside of that. got my group going for my internship. still have to do a formal consultation. I've done "informal ones" all the time. but nothing formal. and to do an informal one would be artificial...it'll suck!
and found out, I'm not alone. a classmate of mine is in a similar situation I was last year. his supervisor has deemed him not ready. he has to go through the entire APEC stuff that I did last semester. so it does feel nice to know I'm not alone anymore in dealing with this crap!
so yeah, that's about it. sleep is good. although its weird for me. I slept from 11 to 5 yesterday (after getting off of work, having worked from 9:30 PM to 8:30 AM with a whole lunch break of 1/2 hour only in there), fell back asleep at midnight and woke up at 8 AM. nice, huh? time to do some laundry, maybe write a book review, and get the work done for tomorrow (and at least started for Wednesday). joyous fun, as always!
but hey, next week is Thanksgiving...my internship is one day, my one class assignment is pretty much done. in fact, one class, I have ONE assignment to do really (we're supposed to do a group pamphlet/information brochure at the end of November, right now, my partner is looking over what we have), a book review due tomorrow (4 to 5 pages, no sweat).
a couple more things here and there for my internship (primarily classroom observations, I SERIOUSLY want to observe the self-contained classroom, that would be soo cool! you know how cool it is to intern at a school where the Homecoming King last year was someone who was in a self-contained classroom, having severe developmental disabilities potentially? it rocks!). get the gamut. a few interviews, a group, and a few classroom guidance lessons. and I should be done!
yeah, things are picking up...time to start job searching, too! I am so looking forward to a time when the weekends are MINE, MINE, MINE! all mine!
Assignments due list:
-case study write up for Internship
-Log check for internship
-4 classroom observations for internship
-2 administrator interviews for internship
-final paper for Internship (reflection on the Counseling Program in general)
-case study for psychopathology
-brochure/informational pamphlet for psychopathology (currently being reviewed by partner)
