hmm, well, another assignment done. I felt okay about my performance today on the presentation....maybe a 8 out of 10. my partner did a lot, though. she wrote a paper on autism, so she had a lot of material before hand, making things easier.
it kind of bit....I was wondering about her dating situation. and then found out that she was dating a guy my age. doh.....guess its another case of "Meet the cool girl, chat with her....and then find out she's dating" for me....yeah, it sucks!
Monday I just seemed "off" at my internship. not firing on all cylinders or something...just not doing as good as I could have done. although I stopped "dancing" around a topic with one person. one of the students I meet with was sexually molested/abused when younger. I picked up on a few things stated. so finally, Monday, after some more "dancing", I finally told the student that I think I know what they are talking about. they asked me, I asked if it would help....and told them.
no, the student does not want to talk more about it....they seem very afraid of Social Services. so I know what the next meeting will be about. the fear of DSS and all about it. I do hope moving past this entire "dancing around the topic" is over though...it was one of those "Elephants in the living room" things.
now, Thursday, I have to remember my DSM-IV TR. one student was recently diagnosed with Social Phobia/Social Anxiety Disorder. but never told what it really means. so we are going through the DSM-IV so the student knows what it means. I hate it when people try to "mystify" counseling.....seriously, in all honesty, counseling really is just good listening and communication.
yeah, that's about it. I'm tired. seriously tired. days seem to have no meaning to me as well. I track what day it is by what is on TV. "Sunday is Dexter, Monday is nothing, Tuesday is House and NCIS, Wednesday is nothing, Thursday is Grey's Anatomy, Friday is 8 hours of work and Saturday is 10 hours of work" is my life right now......one thing I'm so looking forward to for graduation is not working the weekends! just a few days of sitting there and doing NOTHING! it will feel so nice!
so yeah, that's about it...time for some video games, some reading, and then sleep.
