new layout....its all weird and such! I'm going to have to take some time to get used to it now!
let's see....work is progressing. did I ever mention that I hate writing Verbatims? and I have 45 minutes (or so) of verbatims to get typed up by, oh, Wednesday! add to that 2 2-page article reviews, a 6-8 page paper, and presentation to prepare for by Thursday...yeah, life shall be fun (add to that 2 days at internship and a meeting with advisor/supervisor to discuss my evaluation from my site...fun!)
let's see, what else? it snowed....and stayed on the ground. oh how I hate snow. still broke. that sucks. but shall be getting a good size refund the beginning of January. still in counseling......can I say its tough to work on stuff when your support network in the area consists of 2 people! share....with who? it bites!
UNHAPPY STUFF, SO YOU'RE WARNED. and the damn spoiler thing isn't working for me now....grrr!
Thursday is also 2 years. 2 years ago that my uncle got into an argument with his wife (they had been arguing for months....over money probably and his unfaithfulness) and sent her away to run some errands. when she got back, he was gone (with the clothes he was wearing, his gun, and his emptied wallet). he left a note. we figured he took off or something (he left a note quoting "Eddie and the Cruisers" at the person we believe he was having an affair wtih.....at the end of the movie, Eddie takes off). he was Red Cross and everything, so we also thought maybe he got called away. something.
2 days went by, we heard nothing from him. my aunt called the police and filed a missing person's report. she contacted my cousins....my oldest cousin (kind of like a brother to me) contacted me, seeing if I heard anything or could check out things (I tend to be good with finding people on-line, and a good friend of mine has a security clearance with the Government....'nuff said), but I couldnt' find anything. I came back into the area (I lived in Geneva at the time, and was fortunate to get the day off of work). I went to sleep Thursday, exhausted, having spent the evening trying to figure things out with my cousin and his wife about what happened.
I got woken up Friday by my step-father, telling me they found his body. he went down to his pond, rigged hiimself and his gun up in a tree, overlooking his pond, and shot himself in the head. he was so high that they had to cut the tree down. and planned everything so nothing fell to the ground, making him that much harder to find.
so yeah, Thursday (or Saturday) might suck, since it is the anniversary. last year, I was at Internship and class all day, so I didn't stop to think much about it. plus I've been pretty good at burying it all. but now, well, part of my work is dredging all this back up and such.
so yeah, if I'm in a bad mood later this week, sorry. you can read my journal from about 2 years back to figure it out. and I get to work Friday night and Saturday night....talk about making me that much happier!
oh well, here's hoping to complete my work soon so I can focus on studying for my comps! and then Friday the 15th shall be a proper celebration. suggestions for a single guy who doesn't drink to celebrate, please? thanks!
