so my step-father closed his father's estate Friday. he waived the executor fee and had that money divided up between him and his 3 siblings. after all, the will basically said "divide the estate 4 ways between the children, each child has to pay back to the other 3 what they owe". so 5 to 7 grandchildren (my older sister and I were treated as...

That's a lot of bucks, unless you are considering a serious editing/gaming laptop. The point is, you could do some of each....

I admit it, the job is starting to get to me. I had to look at and describe pictures that I wish I didn't have to. I now know more about burns and burn patterns than I wanted to know.

and it sucks.

but I also put up my "Gideon" today. just a memo of something nice on the job. my job coach saw it...

No matter what, you aren't collecting carts at 2AM or whatever.

You've got a career, man!

time to get a new design to hang in my cubicle. taking a note from the character "Gideon" from Criminal Minds. he had a cabinet where he put pictures from everyone he saved.

I want something put up of "cool things on the job" or something like that...so far I have:

-tossing a ball around with a 3 year old
-seeing a young father want...

the more I work at my job, the more I realize some people really suck! and some people work way too hard for way too little to make life good for someone else!

so yeah....support those foster parents out there! its a shrinking breed who are willing to open their homes for a short period of time and care for a kid like the kid...

well, more car repair. I'm driving home and going "Why do I smell burning rubber?"

and a weird whiny kind of noise from my engine. and things seem to be a little stiff for steering. odd....my dash lights aren't working.

going home...the battery light pops on.

yup, after 11 years and 102,000+ miles......the alternator went.

just my luck!

another week down, including my 6 week evaluation. I really have to work on stream lining my progress note writing. pull out what's pertinent and leave out what's not. I might have to do a few exercises over the next week to go this....taking an hour or so to write a contact note might work when I have 2 or 3 cases...but when I have...

Good for you!

As for the Jeep, something to consider - how much do you drive? I have a long ass commute and my car gets 28 mpg on the highway. And that's not enough. My brother has a Prius (he's leasing it for $250/mo) and doing the math, I'd be saving about $200/month in gas alone if I drove that instead.

But if your commute isn't too bad, then it doesn't matter. I have a larger vehicle because my former drummer didn't have a car and I had to drive his ass around and carry both my amp/guitars & his drums.

As for working out, all routines are good routines. I'd start out with a half hour of cardio then do a half hour of weights, which is exactly what you're doing. Of course, do NOT do the same weights right after another. You might want to alternate between body parts. Like maybe arms and shoulders one day then legs and stomach the next. Most importantly, you're working out. That's what matters.
