So Off to California tomorrow for my grandmother's funeral.
Missing some great holiday parties at both church and SGNY but it will be nice to see the San Bernadino Mountains and Pacific Ocean again.
Also get a chance to see my old roommate Clint and his wife and show my wife the west coast for first time (furthest west she has been is Central PA) ....
Also going to use some of the inheritance money to move to S. Maine (portland area) and to start teaching and working there. Its all a bit scary but both me and ninanna have had enough of the city right now.
Just last night the people underneath us put a stereo right under our bed which is annoying a thing as is possible. There is also lots of negative, hectic energy in this crazy city.
Will probably be a teacher when I get up north and will always be a bit of a Yankee and Jerseyite (ironic that New York is the Yankees not Boston) ... Believe it or not its actually easier to do comedy in Portland too ... and I think the MBA might be an exotic species, not a common indebted mass.
BTW... Unless you really want to waste $10 and 3 hours DO NOT see Alexander *1/2 .... It is probably my second least favorite movie of the year to Secret Window and was absolutely dreadful. ... If you wish to see a movie I would recommend highly Sideways, The Incredibles and also recommend Vera Drake and Ray. Do not see Oliver Stone's Ishtar... Its really, really bad... And whoever thought Colin Farrell could act...
Certainly not me.
Give your prayers to my father and aunt on the death of their mother.

I'm sorry to hear that you'll be leaving NYC, also, but good luck in Maine! Enjoy the lobsters and beware of the local dialects.
