Something odd popped into my head today ...

Half a life time ago in 8th or 9th grade I had an early date to go to the movies .. I didn't end up seeing the date that night after buying two tickets to the very good, but very arty Pelle the Conqueror **** (a Swedish film by Lars von Trier with subtitles) .. .my "date" at the time went to see Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure ... ***1/2

Silly a boy as I was at the time I didn't look for her in the theatre or try a 2nd date attempt out ...

Strange thing to pop into the mind but dated very little in college and high school ... and still like the arty films ...

Although I am much more likely to watch "Bill and Ted" again then Pelle the Conqueror if they were on the cable .....

Strangely enough later in my life lived in San Dimas, CA (home of bill and ted) and even liked to go to Raging Waters (which I always called Bill and Ted water park) ....

Strange what things we remember .. .

I guess there are worse things then being a film snob ...

Although I often do like the sillier films better then the arty ones ...

Any odd things like this you remember from childhood ....

In other news saw "the DaVinci Code" and quite liked it ***1/2 ... It surprised me quite a bit ... I also enjoyed that I didn't read the book first ...

I almost always find it hard to not compare movies if I have already read the book ...

My wife thinks the exact opposite way.
