I'm taking Self 's Challenge 2004. Since I'm going from being extremely sedintary, I'm easing into it rather than over-doing it and possibly tearing a muscle. I feel good about my progress so far, even though it's only been a few days. I walked a half hour this afternoon going from school towards home. I only made it about 1/3 of the way to Hellkitten HQ, but half an hour is fantastic compared to the minute amount of walking I usually get. I'm going to alternate between upper body and lower body resistance training during the week. Self says you only have to do strength/resistance 3 times a week, but I really want to get rid of these saddle-bags. Along with Self's advised exercises, I'm going to use a small book I bought the other day. It works on your abs to butt area - something that needs my aultimate attention.
What happened to Spring Break? I was thinking about this today. For as long as I can remember, I've thought that college and uni students get a week's spring break. Here I sit with no week off, not even a few days. Hrmph... Does this happen in bigger name Universities only?
Speaking of school, I've been writing exams, papers, presentations and projects as of late. I've finally come to the end of my rope. I'm super stressed (mainly because I'm way too hard on myself and have super high expectations of my own abilities). I'm breaking out like I'm 14 again - and they hurt, too! +o( Bastard effects of stress on my skin.
Actually, I went to the place that pierced my lip today (it's just down the street from school) to ask the gal if she knew what's going on with my labret. Tuesday I was cleaning my lippy piercing and found a red blotch below and to the left of my labret stud. Yesterday I took a peek at it and it seemed, well, hard. Not rock hard, but as if something was under the skin. A side note to this: 3 months after having my labret pierced I was breaking out yet again (more stress) and I picked up and used some benzoil peroxide on a zit that was super close to my labret. That same night my whole chin became inflamed and looked as though I had burned it. So, when I spotted the red patch all I could think of was the worst scenario - my whole chin becomming inflamed again. I went to the salon that pierced my lip and asked the lady what she thought could be happening. My doc doesn't like oral piercings and I know I'd get a big of a tongue lashing if I went to him about it. The gal looked me over and said to do as many salt soaks as possible, 15 minutes at a time, and if it hadn't healed up come see her again in 5 days. I've swished with salt water and have done 15 minute salt soaks twice since then (11am Thursday) and it seems to be going away. After the first soak and swish it looked like it was just a huge zit that was coming out, but with the salt soaks it seems to be going away. We'll see what happens later today.
*sigh*
So that's my life these days. School, stress, and skin problems.
Anything exciting happening in your world?
