My favorite artist is Marilyn Manson. He has a line in the song “King Kill 33”:
“ You never gave me a chance to be me
Or even a fuckin' chance just to be “.
This song is from the early work and I would not be listened to these words, if not one things.
Since childhood I was an unusual girl and always tried to stand out, show alternative beauty. Already in the 11, I made the very first piercing, and 12 homemade tattoo. I grew up and the need to stand out never left, but my parents thought it was something bad, wrong. Of course, I got out of the pack haha. My appearance has always been criticized, I was under oppression, and when I heard this line in the song, I realized what was meant by this. I promised myself, maybe at this moment, or maybe a little later, that I will be myself and I will be at all. I will feel, look like I feel necessary, and censure from society will never be a motive for me to stop and become “like everyone else”.
