This weekend was spent very unsuccessfuly hermiting. I got some hermit time in, but really I also got to hang out with some super cool people.
It was a date free weekend, which was nice. AS I've been in the multiple dates a week mode. Phew. Some time off is nice. Not too much time off though, as I'm still in hunter/predator mode.

...and then I showed up at work bleary eyed to find 3 good surprises.
The first was that , my new projector bulb showed up in the mail today. Hooray!
I should point out to my faithful readers, that i ACTUALLY have a working bulb in my projector. Why would I buy another $500 bulb for a working projector?
For those of you who have...

Its not MY top you dingbat, the other Carla! I wasn't in a bikini
I wasn't too talkative for most of that trip. I dunno. I'm often not too talkative of a person. But I do always get things to say in my head at completely random moments and wish to write them down; which is why I have SO many journal entries
My mind doesn't shut down, ever, and sometimes it completely sucks.

Nooo. Grant already stole my Horrorpops hoodie on Canada Day and I didn't get THAT back till now. PROTEST!!!
Alright the Edmonton Beach party was in my mind a cinematically impressive event. I think I was actually asleep and watched one of those "GO" type of movies.
First of all the house party! I was proving again that I'm the Master of all things Tetris. Indeed I had a come from behind domination win over Manchester Black. Who actually besides being a kickboxer, is...

I'll have you know I was doing fairly well at Tetris! I challenge you to a rematch! Hmph. "Master".
Bwahaha, I like being the Fun Carla. I still think we should call _rue Hot Carla, though.
I maintain that you guys were betting your clothes, and that we were just accepting your sacrifice to the altar of our hotness.
Aoede: you do so.
Mmm, sushi.
I think possibly one of the unfortunate coincidences that led to char1es' car getting ransacked was we passengers' piling out in a great rush to get in before cover. Which didn't happen anyway.
Such guilt.
Maybe girls who are recently broken see the gentleness and kindness in you
Also, I definitely did call Chapters in St. Albert and leave a message with your contact info, so hopefully you'll be getting a call from Brian in the next day or two to ask you about how awesome I am
Thank you so much for being my reference. Yay inside contacts!
Edited to add: We should have more get-togethers! This has been a most awesome weekend, and SGers are my favourite-est people! We shall have to see what other adventures we can come up with.

just wanted to let you know we will be arriving saturday afternoon for the beach party and the dancing madness to follow...
Alright, time to rant about annoying Employees.
I do have to point out, in the case of us employer types. here's our situation. We can either maintain a full staff where
A)everybody gets the hours they would like
or
B)keeping the employee's starved for hours, so that they ALMOST have what they need, but are at their very minimum for making rent and food
We...

And in other news, I have a confession to make. I spent my first paycheque at Chapters buying books, EVEN THOUGH I knew you worked at Indigo. I know...I suck..
I didn't have enough to spend for the Brothers Grimm Complete Fairy Tales, and Edgar Allan Poe's Complete Short Stories...so perhaps you could give me a discount when I make my adventure over to Indigo to get them after I get paid on Monday?

Psst... Hi back.
Alright I'm thinking of buying this scooter...anybody have any opinions or suggestion for a leery new rider? What will I need to do, for getting this thing onto the road?
Do I need to buy my helmets first? How about insurance, anybody make a good suggestion for company?
Do I even need to insure this?
What about license plates?

manchester_black:
you do need to insure it, but only for the months you'd be driving it (spring through fall most likely) Normally you can get everything all at the same time, probably best to have a helmet first cause you need one of those to ride legal. Vespa's are the most popular style, they got a dealership for em downtown like a block from churchill square... as for insurance, I could talk with one of my friends who works for Dryden about what would be decent rates for one of those, but Ive heard all together when you figure insurance and the monthly cost, you can get it as low as a hundred bucks a month.
masquerade:
Scooter. Not a real motorcycle. But closer than I've got, I guess. Definitely get a helmet first - you can't test drive anything without a helmet. Personally, I'd try to avoid getting one that made me look like Darth Vader.
Alright of our last 6 book monkeys
1 of which was Suicide Girl (and it's not Aoede)
didn't come back for the call back
1 lived too far out of town
1 didn't know "it would require so much thinking, and working hard"
leaving me with 3. We just hired 3 more. But we still need to hire about 3 more.
So, if you want...

I can't remember how tall you are, but if you are under 6 ft, I recommend a yamaha vino, JoyfulDemise has one, I have ridden it a lot and I think it's great, but a bit cramped for me.
If you have lots of dough (like 5 or 6 grand) get an aprilia scarabao, or a vespa et2, both of which are true cadillac scooters.
Under no circumstances buy a Honda jazz or metropolitan, as they are complete shitpiles.

Sounds like Canada Day all over again. How many people did you clean out this time?
heinleindourden:
Now my biggest question is of course, what to wear next time... hMnn...
Alright, after a crazy Saturday which involved me wearing and then subsequently losing my civil war hat, I spent the next day playing cards and hanging out with some friends of mine. What a very crazy night. I don't think I'll tell you all the details as of yet, but they were wacky.

Were you at least wearing scary shoes? Falling down in public is somewhat more forgivable if you can blame your footwear. At least if you're a girl. I don't know if this works for guys.

Activities. I'm going to come visit you at Indigo someday.
still looking for a party date....
Today I started training 5 new monkeys, it seemed to go well. Actually it was supposed to be 6, but 1 didn't show up.
6 little monkeys jumping on the bed
1 didn't show up now her job is dead
5 little monkey's jumping on the bed....
...let's see who starts having crappy availability!

I'm actually in no big hurry to read Magic Street, not after finishing Enchantment anyway.

I'll come see you at Indigo.
