so this weeks homework is " favourite story from your family history"
I think my favourite is the tale of a mermaid.
There is said to be a very enchanting mermaid who graces the Black Isle with song and the voice that no mortal can match. Its been said that many men have seen her with very few that dare to approach her. Apparently if you can catch her she will grant you 3 wishes but only if you can get to her shore FAST! if not she will drag you down to the depths in which no man has ever returned. Now you may think its an easy task but don't be fooled, she has the magical strength of 5 men. so don't go try to catch her and just listen the her song.
another one that is pretty cool too is the tale of the great hound.
Apparently there was a man who possessed a hunting dog. This dog is a legend in our family lore. as the legend goes he was a very large hunting dog who served his master faithfully until old age. His owner wanted to put the dog down but an old woman convinced him that the dog had not had its day yet, so he let the dog live. During those days the wood were being ruled by a ferocious wild boar, if you met the boar you didn't survive and all that was left was evidence of the danger he was. One day the man was out hunting and he found the boar, He couldn't take the boar down, and he was going to be killed. Suddenly the old dog appeared, and battled the boar until its death. Saving the very first man who shares my last name. but unfortunately the great dog received such a mauling that it soon passed away in the arms of his master.
pretty neat eh.
Thanks @missy and @Rambo for the topic!
