Jacquard: {nonchalantly} I must be determined, I must be these things you say, I must be a survivor. But sometimes I’m not so sure.
Corinne: what makes you say that?
Jacquard: because if I wasn’t a survivor, then that must mean I’m dead. And if I’m dead then this must be my afterlife. In which case you are my angel, and it’s more tempting to believe you’re my angel.
