LET'S START A RIOT... A RIOT...
I still don't know what the fuck was going threw the minds of the fans in Vancouver. You should be proud of your team. You were the best in the WEST!. I knew either way there was going to be a riot. One lady on my friends facebook went off about it being anarchists. Sure lady.. if thats what you want to think. I'm sure a handful of them were but from the news and my friends photos ON GROUND ZERO 95% of those assholes were in nucks jerseys. I even told her to open her fucking eyes and maybe google what happened in 94 and also look up Guns and Roses Riot, which my friends were charged with starting. This lady doesnt get it. Your city likes to riot, its just plain and simple. Look at Montreal, same deal, win or lose that city will riot. I felt sick to my stomach watching the events that took place, not to mention reading in the paper that they threw a Boston fan off a bridge and he died. ITS FUCKING HOCKEY!
why do you feel the need to destroy your city and take a life? I remember back in 2004 when Calgary went to the Stanley Cup, we were the original MILE party, we started the Red Mile, the Sea of Red, with over 100,000 fans and was there a riot? NO, was there fights? sure a couple here and there with really drunk idiots but the police were on the streets in full force and made sure we had a great time. There were no fires, there was no looting, THERE WAS TITTIES AND ASS! even that night we lost to Tampa Bay, people still celebrated our team on the mile for being the best in the west. Edmonton had riots the year they went too, but the worst damage was telephone polls and garbage can's on fire, not peoples cars in the streets. I feel so horrible that this city did so much to itself for the Olympics and then have a bunch of idiots go around and cause more damage then the Olympics.
On a good note CONGRATS BOSTON! You guys deserved it! played hard all season and kicked some serious ass in the last couple games. Timmy Thomas you are a great wall that could not be taken down by anyone. Looks like my dad will be the one cashing in his ticket in Vegas, every year my whole family makes bets in Sin City for the cup. I was Detroit (obviously, I never go against my team), Jess was Sharks
, Mom was with Nashville (because they had a natural disater, gotta love women who don't follow sports), Dad went with Boston and poor Dougie went with Vancouver. I told Dad no worries next year I'm cashing in my ticket for Detroit because they will be winning their 12th cup in 2012.
SO TONIGHT IS MY TEN YEAR HIGH SCHOOL REUNION
I'm showing my age now lol, this should be interesting. I don't see any of my friends (minus a couple girls) that I hung out with in high school. I was one of those super popular girls who found out how flakey my friends were after high school. Funny thing is now ten years later, my best friends are a group of dudes from my high school, I knew them, just never hung out with them, now I'm going back to the reunion with them and my couple of girls now (who also I never hungout with). So I'll make sure to post some pix

I follow Commodore on twitter because he played for my college when I went there and I loved that guy. He was talking about when he played for the Flames and they lost and how it was a good scene afterwards, maybe a couple fights, but mainly girls flashing and drowning of sorrows in drink, nothing even close to what just happened in Van.
Most of the people there who did engage in the riot were wannabe thugs from Surrey.
A couple friends of mine got pepper sprayed in the crossfire. They were lying on the side of the street crying for about 45 mins. until we could get some milk to pour into their eyes and get them safely back to our friends place on Pender st. Even from there we could hear screams and gunshots and the traffic soon started getting backed up because the bridges were closed. It was fucking brutal.
The majority of people who live in this beautiful city have enough pride in it to not tarnish it, and EVERYONE I know was sickened by what went down.
