I don't know what's wrong with my pics section, but it's not working.
Tonight the Fox show "Cracking Up" premires after American Idol. The show stars Jason Schwartzman, from "Rushmore," Molly SHannon, the guy who played Shooter MacGavin, and a one Mr. David Walton.

Aside from the fact that I was having a rather boring night the other day, I think I came upon your profile when I was posting stuff on the boards and most likely you had said something interesting so I went to investigate...that's usually how I look at random people...but the pics were an added bonus.
And I am not REALLY an SG Hopeful...I was looking for a friend's pics. Something about posting nude pics on the web just doesn't do much for me...Too chicken I guess...
I had totally forgot that show was going to be on...I will have to watch it next week...
innuendo:
Welcome fairly new member. How do you like SG so far?
Had a good time hanging with various members of SGNY last night. Some of the highlights:
-About 6 SGers were playing darts on one of two side-by-side boards. I'm fairly new to the group, so I introduce myself without a moment's hesitation. Normally, this is a good thing. However, it was a little odd when I turned to this guy and said "Hi, I'm Chris."...

You didn't miss much after you left - it was a very low-key SGNY outing, at least as far as I could tell. Maybe things got more exciting later, I bailed kind of early in the interest of getting sleep.
That's so funny that you know where "You got the touch" is from. I think the last time I saw Transformers: The Movie was at a birthday party in the fourth grade, so it's been a while. Maybe I should rent it again? I was admiring the animation cells as well though, they fit the decor of the bar nicely.
Good seeing you though. I'll see you again in a few weeks....

Your light pics are great fun...
It's amazing the distances I will go to hook up with a girl. But, becuase I fight long-term intimacy like Listerine battles plaque, I can only do the serious "quality-time together" stuff in a foreign locale.
So, this winter break I saw a girl with whom I went to high school. Back then, she was two grades below me, but we had a great conversation....

I've been to that place too. I was really close with this girl it felt like a sure thing but nothing happened it was strange because she was so persistent to have me visit.

Norway, huh? For some reason I feel like I'd be intimidated by 6 foot tall beautiful blonde girls. Not that I wouldn't be attracted to them...
We're thinking 5 days of skiing, 5 days of sight seeing and a few days to just chill and enjoy life. Sounds about right to me. My friends are kind of crazy aggressive skiers so I don't know if I could handle any more than that anyway.
As for SGNY events - actually, I feel like the couple of times I've shown up not knowing a single person is when I've met the most people. I'm sure you'll be fine. But you should come hang out on Saturday afternoon if you can, it looks like we'll be doing our thing once more.
The photo shoot turned hardcore right after I stopped paying attention, apparently. I saw Matt and Helen come in and was just talking to them, not even looking at what was being projected on the wall, when Helen said "look, it's a porno." I looked up and some guy was holding a girl upside down and they were 69ing... I figured that was kind of sketchy, and it went downhill from there.

I accidently locked my roomates door an needed a paperclip to open it. I went to two delis and two laundromats down the street. No one spoke English well enough to understand what a paperclip was. Finally, I demonstrated the concept to an old Chinese man. He got it. I opened the door. I think I freaked out a woman and her kid when I...

We missed you at the magazine thing, hope all is well. It gets me insane when I see people speaking to young children in other languages, I have no problem with embracing your heritage, I just think people should work harder to assimilate. There is a difference between cultural pride and being practical. Some will give the argument that half the world speaks language X, or that in other countries people are bilingual I have news for you this isnt half of the world, or another country its America, speak whatever you want on your own time but when in public make an effort to speak the language of the land.
tastysoup:
that's impressive! i bet i couldn't express the idea of "paperclip" to someone without speaking. that's also impressive that you can open doors with a paperclip. you talented lad you.
I'll be guest bartending on Wednesday night at Walter's, which is on 8th Ave. between 29th and 30th. It supposed to be a really laid back place. I can't comp you drinks, but it should be a good crowd. A lot of students, I think.
And yes, this is a short entry, but after that story I wrote on the 19th, I deserve a break.

I hope the bartending bit went well - sorry I couldn't make it, I was really feeling wiped out and I have plans every night for the next five days, so I figured I'd take it easy tonight.
Are you thinking about coming to Penny's thing on Saturday? Should be fun.

I'm not a fan of The Cure. I was just making a fun picture for my friend Elysse. That's her favorite song.
It's odd to me to think of Joy Division as melancholy. I guess I can't deny that some of their songs are moody and dark, but they had a lot of up beat tracks as well.

Everything in this story is true:
Last night, I called my roomate, Austen. He was waiting for a table at the Mexican place, "Tortilla Flats" on the corner of Washington and Jane. I was nearby and he invited me to join him and his mother for dinner.

OK, I've gotta see the speed bartender routine, that sounds really impressive.
Friday night was pretty good, fairly small and it was a mixed SG/non-SG crowd, which I think helped to keep things on the tamer side. I didn't stay very late on Saturday, I had told some other friends I would hang out with them instead, which turned out to be a big mistake since their party sucked, and I heard the SGNY party was fun.
And I dig the "underground intellectuals" idea, I'm all for it.

me and my dad watched the shit out of airwolf when i was a kid, yet things like ernest borgnine day at tortilla flats are the reason that he practically refuses to come to manhattan.
Let's review.
Mixed drinks go in highball glasses, with 1 oz. (or a four count if your pouring) of whatever alcohol. A highball used to be a drink on its own, but has since become a type of glass.
"On the Rocks" drinks are served in much shorter glasses. If someone orders a Gimlet, they must specify whether they want Vodka or Gin.

I wanted to be a bartender. It would be such a kick ass job. Any suggestions on what schools to check out for bartending certification?
So last night the Song Airlines Lounge at Fashion Week turned into an open bar. We started serving at 6:00 PM and went until 9:00.
I knew right away that I was in a bad mood when people came by earlier in the afternoon asking for the free promo stuff we'd been handing out the past couple of days. Normally, I like giving that stuff...

Dear god, 4 subways? That sounds horrific. Who would have thought it would ever be so difficult to get from Bushwick to Park Slope?
And yeah, everyone agrees, the gatorade and vodka was not a good idea.
I'm not sure if the guy you described with the camera is the guy I'm thinking of. The reason why I ask is because there's one guy who sort of sounds like that who wants to get in SGNY, but there's been some misgivings about him. So I figured if that was him, that would seal the deal. But it doesn't sound like it (there have been some prior problems with camera-happy creepy guys. Use your imagination.)

Well, I know I was bitching about working at the Song Airlines lounge at Fashion Week, but they actually got some extra tickets to one of the fashion shows and I got to sit front row while models catwalked just feet away from me.
Now I can say on good authority: Some of these women are downright unattractive. If anyone ever needed any proof that...

Welcome to SGNY! I didn't know your username so I didn't get a chance to comment earlier (and I've been out of town since Burlesque.) Anyway dinner was fun, i'm glad you got a chance to come and hang out.

haaa surely us models arent all that bad
Note to self: Don't build things up to be cool when you have no idea what they're going to be like. Don't fantisize, don't create cool details that probably won't exist, don't get fired up when you could be waaaaay off.
