Having the bun at Pho 79 makes me want move to Vietnam and eat until I die. I just think that the Vietnamese are incapable of making food that does not rule. Everything I have eaten at various Phos rocks. What's up with every other Vietnamese restaurant being called Pho 98 or Pho 79 or Pho 88? Is it a chain that just doesn't have any kind of consistency? Or every restaurant owner wanted to have Pho in the name and it was just so easy to put a number next to it that everybody did just that. Man, I am not kidding about everything they make rocking my world. My neighbors are Vietnamese and when they barbeque I can smell it drifting over the fence and it just drives me nuts.

Wow. That had to be the shittiest vacation ever. Besides being sick …
we suffer because we want, and then when we get what we want, we aren't satisfied. it makes sense to me. kierkegaard defined unhappiness as something like constantly looking on the past with wanting, in full knowledge that it will never be again. well, i guess that would be despair rather than unhappiness...
idunno much about the religion, but its weird because the facts i do know about it come from western philosophy classes where at the end of the semester i came to some conclusion, brought it up in class, and the professor says "yeah, and thats alot like what buddhists believe..." and so i've been reading all this stuff and been going through the head slapping stage where i'm all like "NO SHIT!!! i've been saying this forever!!!!!" but, of course, they've been saying it for thousands of years.
but, yeah, i'm a ways from living on a grain of rice for months.
Btw, i remember passing Pho #1 the other day. Dunno what's up with the names. Some crazy Vietnamese thing. I think the joke is it's their health inspection score.
