I miss my first car...
It really came to fit me in an unintentional way. It was a black ford EXP. It looked Exactly like the 80's mustang - the shitiest ever made.
I just cant stress how reckless of a driver I was. After a number mild recks and near death experiences I realy felt a deep connection with that piece of shit. The front grill was gone and after side swiping a low-rider doing at 70 mph in the pouring rain the passenger door wouldn't open. I had to make my girl friends hop over the emergency brake to get a seat. It was a tough looking car with racing stripes carved by concrete pylons and idiocy. I drove the fuck out of that thing. Towards the end of it's life the ruber insulateing the windsheild had deteriorated and water would seep in when it rained. The engine also had some sort of issue that if I didn't rev it at a stop it would stall. I remember getin chased by some white night's crew because they thought I was fucking with them.
Fact is I can remember almost getting shot, crush or arrested numerous times in that car. Fact is in hind sight it happened on a daily basis. My parrents live out in the sticks and the only way to there house from town is over a one way bridge. Playing chicken was a fact of life and if you wanted to get home 3 seconds quicker it was just the thing you had to do. One day I was coming back from school and there happened to be a big ass dump truck comeing down the hill on the other side. So I guned it naturaly. I beat him. Passing by I notice that there's about 70 feet of black steaming tracks behind him. I smelled the burnt ties and just knew that it could have been my ass on action news 6.
oh the memories...
