The sky grows dark and the wind becomes slight
Windows are clasped and doors locked tight
All is now still and there is nary a sound,
not the chirping of a bird or of any dog abound.

Its shape takes horrible form as it gets near,
Something God would abhor and even the devil would fear.
Dark and wet, long and lean, ragged limbs,
and eyes that are mean
Grotesque teeth and claws so sharp
could with one mighty swipe surely tear out thy heart.

Should you cross its path,
it will eat you whole
Chew you to bits and then
spit out your soul

So run, run with all your might
or else this may be your last night
For trees doth wither and the earth turn to crumbs
when something wicked this way comes

Translation: I only slept two hours last night and I've been too busy to get anything to eat so far today and, as a result, I am just a weeeeeeeeeeee bit grouchy mad TGIF!

Your story reminds me of a time when I was little and at the beach with my father. We were in the water when this huge wave came and splashed me, making me blind with stinging eyes. I couldn't see very well and grab in the direction where my father had been. I wrapped my arms around a waist whom I thought was my fathers, but when I opened my eyes and looked up it was some other man! My father was a couple of feet away and I could tell everyone was trying not to laugh, which made me feel even more embarassed.
